Director, Technical Program Management – Physical AI

Honeywell Forge & AI is building the next generation of intelligent, autonomous solutions that connect AI, software and the physical world. Our teams are applying Physical AI to real-world challenges—from reducing energy consumption in buildings and optimizing industrial processes to improve operational efficiency and enabling more autonomous operations. 

We are looking for a Director, Technical Program Management – Physical AI to lead the execution and productization of some of our most strategic AI initiatives. This role sits at the intersection of AI, software, engineering, product, UX and business, helping turn emerging technologies and customer pilots into scalable solutions. 

We are looking for someone who is excited about this rapidly evolving field and thrives in a dynamic environment—someone who can solve complex problems, bring structure to ambiguity, connect the dots across initiatives, establish effective processes, and align global teams around the priorities that matter most. 

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Lead complex, cross-functional Physical AI and software programs from business case and concept through proof of concept, development, testing, customer deployment, productization and launch. 
• Translate strategic priorities into clear roadmaps, milestones, ownership and execution plans. 
• Drive cross-team prioritization and alignment, balancing customer needs, business priorities, technical dependencies, resources and investment. 
• Connect the dots across programs and teams, identify dependencies, risks and gaps early, and drive timely decisions and resolutions. 
• Establish and continuously improve processes, operating mechanisms and execution rhythms that bring clarity, accountability and predictability to rapidly evolving programs. 
• Own program and portfolio financial management, including budget planning, forecasting, resource planning, cost tracking and financial performance, partnering closely with Finance and functional leaders to ensure programs deliver within committed investments. 
• Provide leadership and oversight across the UX portfolio, ensuring UX priorities and resources are aligned with product roadmaps, customer needs and program commitments. 
• Partners with UX and Product leaders to ensure customer experience and user needs are integrated early in the product-development lifecycle, from discovery and concept through productization. 
• Partner closely with AI, Engineering, Product Management, UX, Operations, Finance, Sales and business leaders to deliver high-quality customer solutions. 
• Establish influential partnerships across a global, matrixed organization and effectively engage stakeholders at all levels. 
• Drive execution against committed scope, schedule, resources, budget and business outcomes, while adapting quickly as priorities evolve. 
• Recommend and drive improvements to products, programs and ways of working based on insights from internal and external stakeholders. 
• Help build a high-performing Technical Program Management organization, with strong standards, operating rhythms and a culture of ownership and accountability. 
• Enable the transition of innovative concepts and customer pilots into repeatable, scalable product offerings that deliver measurable customer and business outcomes. 

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics
• 10+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering, software/product development or related technology fields. 
• 7+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional programs and/or teams. 
• Significant experience managing large-scale technology or product-development programs. 
• Demonstrated experience with program financial management, including budgets, forecasting, resource planning and cost management. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence global, cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand and navigate complex technical programs. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills. 

WE VALUE 

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Business or equivalent experience. 
• Experience with AI/ML, industrial software, building automation, industrial automation, IoT or connected products. 
• Experience taking emerging technologies from proof of concept and customer pilots through productization and scale. 
• Experience working closely with or leading UX/design teams and incorporating customer-centered design into product development. 
• NPI execution or end-to-end product lifecycle experience. 
• PMP or equivalent program-management certification. 
• Ability to connect the dots across complex programs, technologies, teams and dependencies and translate them into actionable execution plans. 
• Demonstrated ability to create processes and operating mechanisms where a playbook may not already exist. 
• Strong prioritization skills and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around common objectives. 
• Ability to make decisions and drive progress in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and changing priorities. 
• Ability to establish influential partnerships at all levels of an organization. 
• Broad cross-functional experience spanning technology, product, UX, finance, operations, sales and innovation. 
• Strong execution mindset with a persistent drive for results, ownership and accountability. 
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging technologies and the opportunity to turn AI innovation into meaningful real-world outcomes.
