Summary:


Vaxcyte is seeking to hire a talented individual to join our Human Resources team. The Director, Talent Management and Engagement will develop and manage our people programs to ensure they align with the company’s priorities and result in an engaged and committed workforce. Such programs include employee engagement, HR communications and events, HR program management (Performance Management, Talent Management, Change Management), community engagement, and diversity and inclusion among others. This role contributes to the health and success of the organization by knowing the HR deliverables and proactively collaborating with the HR team to identify, develop, and implement programs and engagement strategies that meet the needs of the business. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders (Executive leadership, HR leadership, HR business partners, department heads, etc.) to ensure our HR programs and solutions are relevant, drive key business outcomes and align to key talent strategies across the company.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop an employee experience, engagement and communications approach that engages and equips all employees to deliver on our strategy and own the programs that support our employee experience (e.g., employee engagement events, culture and values, performance and talent management, diversity, and inclusion).
  • People Roadmap: Craft and implement an integrated people roadmap that integrates HR program deliverables, culture and engagement.
  • Employee Engagement: Develop and implement employee engagement strategies that foster a positive work environment and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Values & Culture: Ensure values are consistently integrated across all HR functions, programs, and processes.
  • HR Communications & Events: Work with Communications team to develop strategic internal communications campaigns aligned to talent initiatives; define and evolve an inclusive and consistent HR communications strategy appropriate for our culture.
  • Change Management: lead change management efforts related to HR programs, organizational initiatives and cultural transformation ensuring the preservation of our core culture and values.
  • Develop performance and talent management programs to ensure we have a clear understanding of high potential and key talent, succession planning to understand bench strength and career development.
  • Diversity Efforts: In partnership with Communications team, build diversity strategy and integrate initiatives across HR programs; develop and implement initiatives that promote a sense of belonging and community.
  • Community Engagement: In partnership with Communications team, develop partnerships with external organizations and community groups that are aligned to Vaxcyte’s mission.
  • Develop and implement talent management strategies and programs that enable the development and retention of talent.
  • Measure impact of programs through various surveys, e.g., engagement, onboarding and exit surveys.
  • Proactively drive alignment and accountability within the HR team and across the company to ensure programs are interconnected and scaled to company size and growth plans.
  • Facilitate monthly meetings with internal Vaxcyte working group to align on upcoming culture/employee engagement activities, development programs, communications, responsibilities, and next steps (e.g., develop agendas, action items).
  • Coach, mentor and provide development opportunities for direct reports.
  • Work on special projects in support of HR initiatives that support the company priorities.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years’ experience in human resources, consulting, or business relevant roles.
  • 3-5 years of successful people management experience providing mentorship, leadership, and growth.
  • Have a deep understanding of the employee lifecycle, communications, performance/talent management and employee onboarding.
  • Direct experience in supporting human resources/people driven internal communications.
  • Very strong program and project management and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated skills and abilities in implementing talent-related programs.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, facilitation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly present information to internal and external audiences
  • Ability to connect with a breadth of employee perspectives and experiences.
  • ·Proven success in working collaboratively across functions to make a positive impact on culture.
  • Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgement.
  • Organized, able to prioritize work, able to balance multiple competing priorities.
  • Reputation for integrity and dedicated work ethic with desire for ownership of process and product success.
  • Technology savvy.
  • Team player, willing to adapt based on business needs.
  • Bachelors' degree in related field of study.

Compensation:

The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component.

 

Salary Range: $204,000 – $237,300
