Director of System Administration - 2254

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Director of System Administration for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1. 

Job Overview:

• The System Administration Director oversees the organization’s Microsoft 365, infrastructure, and cloud-based solutions, driving strategic alignment with business goals.
• This role involves leading a team of system administrators, managing IT infrastructure, and ensuring optimal performance and security.
• The Director will develop and execute cloud migration strategies, enforce compliance and security policies, and manage the IT budget.
• Collaboration with executive leadership and vendors is essential to negotiate contracts and enhance service delivery.
• Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree, 8-10 years of IT experience, leadership skills, and certifications in relevant technologies, with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.

Required Qualifications:

• Candidates for the System Administration Director role should have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT system administration, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
• Experience must include managing Microsoft 365 environments, cloud technologies (such as Azure or AWS), and IT infrastructure.
• A proven track record in overseeing projects, fostering team development, and driving strategic initiatives is essential.
• Familiarity with compliance and security practices is also required, along with experience in budget management and vendor relations, ensuring candidates possess the necessary expertise to align IT strategies with organizational goals.
• Key skills required for the System Administration Director include strong leadership and team management capabilities, with a focus on fostering continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and cloud technologies (e.g., Azure, AWS) is essential, alongside a solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, and security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills are necessary, as well as the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
• Additionally, strong project management skills and experience with budget oversight are important for driving cost-effective IT solutions and ensuring the successful implementation of initiatives.

Education Required:

• Candidates for the System Administration Director position must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A master’s degree is preferred, reflecting advanced knowledge and strategic thinking in IT management.
• Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or ITIL Foundation, are also advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise in cloud technologies and IT best practices.
