Title: Director, Social Media
Job Type: Full-time
The Director, Social Media plays a key leadership role for the overall health and management of the Social Media Department with an emphasis on paid media strategy & planning, campaign management oversight, thought leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Social Strategy & Planning
- Assess, develop, propose and implement long-term social media strategies that connect paid and organic efforts and align with client needs and objectives.
- Oversee development and implementation of all social media campaigns to ensure efficient execution and optimization, employing best practices to meet deadlines and track progress.
- Conduct ongoing performance tests to gauge content and campaign effectiveness; gather data and recommend updates to strategy, creative and/or budgets based on results.
- Work closely with content strategy and creative teams to communicate learnings and provide insights for content; establishing processes for requesting, publishing, and retiring content.
Campaign management oversight
- Oversee day-to-day paid social media campaign management: campaign planning and setup, Ad creation, quality control, budget pacing, testing, measurement/reporting, and optimization across multiple social platforms for clients across varied verticals.
- Mentor and build relationships with social paid media management team, demonstrating strong competency of all junior and midlevel paid media manager responsibilities and comfortably provide training, coverage, and/or oversight as needed
- Serve as the primary client-facing paid and organic social media strategy lead, presenting strategies, performance insights, and innovation opportunities in client meetings.
- Collaborate with other inter-agency and partner-agency teams as needed to build and manage integrated campaigns, analyze results, and share learnings across channels and programs.
Thought Leadership
- Stay up to date with the latest digital technologies, social media trends, platform changes, and cutting-edge tactics.
- Apply learnings to campaigns to keep clients at the forefront of new trends and help drive mutual client/agency growth.
- Partner with Omnichannel Team Leads in elevating the Digital practice (e.g., sharing advanced tactics, presenting at client meetings, mentoring employees not on your direct team)
Business Development
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
- Participate actively in business development initiatives representing the Social Media team
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of relevant working experience in healthcare paid and organic social media-related efforts, developing and managing campaigns and integrating with organic strategies. (Agency and FDA-regulated pharmaceutical preferred)
Other Required:
- Strong understanding of social analytics, attribution, and optimization best practices.
- Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for innovation and staying ahead of industry trends with a strong understanding of social platforms (Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google My Business, YouTube, X, TikTok, Bluesky, Pinterest, etc.) and analytics applications (Sprout Social, Looker Studio, Google Analytics etc.).
- Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple projects with ease, prioritizing when necessary.
- May require travel domestically including overnight stays
