We are looking for a full-time Director, E-Commerce Business Development & Partnerships to join our dynamic team! This role will report directly to the President.
The Director, Shopping Strategy will be in charge of creating and implementing strategies for maximizing affiliate and commerce revenue on Apartment Therapy, The Kitchn, Cubby, and Dorm Therapy. The person in this role should be self-motivated and collaborative, as well as creative and data driven. They must also have a thorough knowledge of the affiliate revenue landscape, be a team player, and have a positive attitude and upbeat spirit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations with the Editorial Director of the Shopping Team, and direct management of affiliate networks, partners, and paid media opportunities
- Manage small team to aid with partnerships and analytics
- Forecast and measure annual, quarterly, and monthly Shopping revenue goals, performance, and profitability. Oversee delivery of daily revenue pacing and monthly reporting to the organization
- Ensure the consistent growth of the paid media revenue stream through the identification and development of strategic partnerships. Collaborate with the Director of Revenue Intelligence to ensure our offerings are competitive
- Research and develop new revenue streams in an effort to scale the E-Commerce business
- Ensure the monetization of annual editorial programs and identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes (Gift Edit, Small/Cool, Kitchn Essentials)
- Direct retailer and tentpole strategies for key shopping events such as Amazon Prime Day and Cyber Week
- Attend affiliate marketing events and act as an ambassador on behalf of Apartment Therapy Media. Leverage these opportunities to grow existing partnerships and facilitate new relationships. Identify opportunities suitable for Direct Sales
- Stay abreast of consumer and industry trends as well as the changing E-Commerce landscape
Collaboration:
- Editorial Director: Work closely with the Editorial Director to align on the direction and shop-forward content that will maximize page view and earning goals of the Shopping vertical
- Sales: Partner with Sales on conversion focused proposals for clients. Oversee the execution of campaigns and provide analysis and measurement of KPI’s.
- Marketing & Growth: Collaborate with Marketing and Growth to expand the E-Commerce footprint as well as grow revenue through cross-departmental campaigns and projects
- Product: Partner with the Product Team to create and implement tooling and reporting that supports the seamless creation and performance tracking of affiliate content
Experience & Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in e-commerce and shopping strategy
- Previous experience working at a consumer publisher (a company that produces and distributes content) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with paid media trends and best practices
- Analytically driven, with a proven track record of successful partnership development
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on retail key performance metrics & ROAS (return on ad spend) goals and guarantees
- Strong writing & communication skills, able to work with executives and new professionals alike to easily explain complex concepts and influence decision-makers
- Self-starter, team player, and strong collaborator
- Strong experience with platforms like Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Trackonomics, Commission Junction, Impact Radius and Amazon Associates.
Salary
Total annual salary for this role will range from $135,000 - $155,000, inclusive of salary and performance-based commission.
The above represents the expected salary range for this role. Ultimately, compensation is determined by level of experience and other job-related factors.
