As the Director of Social Media & Influencer, you will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of social strategy to drive brand awareness, engagement, conversation, and advocacy. You will provide strategic direction, oversee a team of social/influencer specialists, community managers and creatives and work closely with cross functional depts, incl. Marketing, Media, PR and more to ensure alignment with overall brand and business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  1. Strategy Development: Develop comprehensive social media strategies aligned with the organization's goals and target audience demographics. This includes paid, earned, and owned content strategies to maximize the impact across various platforms.
  2. Content Creation and Curation: Oversee the creation, curation, and publishing of high-quality content across all social media channels. Ensure that content aligns with the paid, earned, and owned strategies, resonates with the audience, and enhances brand visibility.
  3. Community Engagement: Oversee the CM team responsible for fostering meaningful interactions with the organization's social media followers, monitoring conversations, trends, and feedback to inform strategy adjustments and optimize engagement.
  4. Campaign Management: Plan and execute social media campaigns to support marketing initiatives, product launches, events, and promotions. Support with the development of paid advertising strategies to amplify reach and engagement, while also leveraging earned and owned media opportunities.
  5. Influencer Strategy and Management: Develop and execute influencer marketing strategies to leverage partnerships with relevant influencers and thought leaders. Identify and engage influencers whose audience aligns with the organization's target demographic, negotiating contracts and tracking performance.
  6. Analytics and Reporting: Partner with social/media analysts to track key metrics, analyze performance data, and generate regular reports for stakeholders. Use insights to evaluate the effectiveness of social media efforts and recommend optimizations to enhance ROI.
  7. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and inspire a team of social media managers, specialists and content creators -- providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. Delegate tasks effectively, foster collaboration, and ensure team members are equipped with the skills to succeed.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, PR, Creative and other teams to develop integrated campaigns while ensuring cohesive messaging.
  9. Agency Management: Manage and collaborate with external agency partners (social, media, influencer, content) as part of integrated campaign or content planning and execution.

LOCATION:

Needham MA or NYC, Onsite 3x a week 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 8-10+ years of social media management, preferably in a global or multinational organization, with a track record of developing and implementing successful strategies for brands or organizations.
  • Relevant category/Beauty industry experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams, delegating tasks, and fostering a collaborative work environment within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Acute understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices, with expertise in content creation, community management, and analytics.
  • Experience in developing paid, earned, and owned content strategies, including paid advertising, organic content, and influencer partnerships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive messaging and engage with diverse audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and technologies.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.



The salary range for this role is $158,130.00 - $193,270.00  DOE
