Cornerstone is seeking a strategic and experienced Sales Director to lead our business development efforts in the live event production space, with a focus on the Utah market and beyond. This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional with a strong network, entrepreneurial mindset, and a passion for events. You will be responsible for generating new business, developing and executing sales strategies, mentoring junior account executives, and driving measurable growth through data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Team Development:

  • Train, mentor, and develop junior sales executives to drive performance and growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Sales Reporting & Goal Setting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales reports detailing wins, losses, and opportunity feedback.
  • Develop and present annual sales goals and strategies, including KPI tracking and risk assessment.
  • Deliver sales presentations outlining markets, opportunities, successes/failures, and strategic recommendations.

Sales Forecasting & Budgeting:

  • Regularly prepare and update sales forecasts and budgets aligned with company financial objectives.
  • Monitor and report on pipeline health and conversion rates.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aligned with overall business goals.
  • Participate in the development of the company’s strategic marketing plan and collaborate with senior leadership on go-to-market strategies.

Performance Management:

  • Set clear performance goals for the sales team and monitor progress continually.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching/feedback to team members.

Market & Competitor Analysis:

  • Conduct market analysis to identify new business opportunities, emerging trends, and competitive threats.
  • Adjust sales strategies based on market intelligence and competitor activities.

Key Account Management:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients and venues.
  • Negotiate and close major deals, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Work closely with marketing, operations, and finance to ensure sales initiatives are supported and aligned.
  • Collaborate on pricing strategies, product development, and event execution.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to executive leadership, including analysis of performance against targets, market trends, and strategic recommendations. Communicate sales goals and progress to the team and C-level executives.

Customer Feedback & Satisfaction:

  • Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve sales processes and offerings.
  • Resolve customer complaints and issues to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years in B2B sales, event production, or business development.
  • Proven success in leading sales teams and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Deep understanding of the Utah market and established professional network preferred.
  • Willingness to travel (20–30%) for client meetings and industry events.
