As a Director of Research and Development here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of our R&D initiatives, playing a key role in driving innovation, managing technology development, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

You will report directly to the Sr. Director of Engineering, and you’ll work out of our Lansdale, PA location on a 9/80 work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the future of technology development by fostering innovation, aligning R&D efforts with business goals, and leading a talented team to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enhance Honeywell Aerospace’s competitive edge.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate R&D efforts into the company's overall strategic plan
  • Drive research and development initiatives to explore new technologies and methodologies
  • Oversee internal RDE programs, in coordination with program management, to ensure successful execution for technical, schedule, and development cost
  • Apply strong engineering and programmatic judgement to drive risk and opportunity management
  • Mentor other engineers
  • Perform EW Systems and components requirements analysis and decomposition
  • Interact with external customers to drive growth opportunities
  • Drive technical innovation that grows our portfolio of products
  • Work directly with Business Leadership to contribute to development of Business Strategy and Technology Roadmaps
  • Work Closely with Business Development and other organizations on pursuits, white papers, RFI’s, technical proposals and collaborative efforts
  • Lead Special Programs as key TPOC (Technical Point of Contact) 
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • 8+ years of experience leading research and development projects within a technology environment and 10+ years’ experience overall
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and project management involving Electronic Warfare and Radar Systems
  • Strong knowledge of R&D processes, innovation management, and technology integration
  • Experience managing complex project portfolios and aligning R&D activities with business objectives
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Degree in Engineering
