Kuvare Services Bermuda Ltd. (“KSB”), a Bermuda based service provider to affiliated and regulated Bermuda domiciled long- term reinsurers, is seeking a Director, Reinsurance and International Markets to provide actuarial support to Kindley Re Ltd., the Sidecar vehicle (“Sidecar”) sponsored by Kuvare.  The incumbent will be exposed to a broad spectrum of reinsurance transactions along with various aspects of operations of the Sidecar vehicle, including elements of risk, capital planning, finance, and reserving.  The role will involve a high level of engagement with the CEO, committees and boards of the sidecar.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The role will report to the Chief Business Development Officer as well as having a high level of engagement with the CEO of Kindley Re Ltd.  Primary duties will involve acting as the lead resource in coordinating actuarial requirements associated with the Sidecar. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for preparing pricing models and analyzing output for flow and block reinsurance transactions, primarily in Excel
• Responsible for communicating new transactions to the Sidecar and execution of associated reinsurance agreements as new business is brought on board
• In cooperation with the Actuarial Valuation team, support the delivery of regular reporting on GAAP results and Bermuda reserving. 
• In cooperation with the Risk team, support the delivery of regular reporting on risks, including by not limited to FX reporting, asset liability management and liquidity.
• In cooperation with the CEO and the Board of Sidecar, oversee ad-hoc tasks as they arise
• Demonstrate a continued desire to learn and develop as a key member of the team
• Support ad-hoc initiatives across the entire Kuvare organization
• Maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science/accounting/finance/business/mathematics/statistics/commerce;
• FSA or an equivalent qualification from a recognized actuarial organization.  
• Demonstrate a minimum of 5+ years relevant experience, working directly for a life/annuity (re)insurance company, bank/broker or consulting organization;
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and VBA. Experience programming in SQL, R, or AXIS;
• Critical thinking and sound judgement with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects;
• Asset intensive reinsurance pricing experience working in an (re)insurance company, bank/broker or consulting organization a plus;
• Product knowledge of US annuities (FDAs, FIAs) a plus;
• Experience/knowledge in various frameworks such as US GAAP, US Stat, RBC, EBS, Solvency II, ICS, EVS, a plus;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral; and
• Willingness and capacity to work overtime including evenings, weekends, and public holidays and on short notice when needed to meet time sensitive tasks.
