Job Responsibilities
We are looking for a Director of Quality to support our growing heat shield fabrication business. This is a great opportunity for a strong quality leader who wants to develop quality policy, culture and performance in a fast-moving, dynamic company. The position oversees quality at all plants (Yuma, Santa Ana CA, SLRC MX). Although this is a senior position, it also requires someone who enjoys being out on the shop floor, solving problems in close collaboration with production staff. Specific management responsibilities include:
- Quality control / inspection
- Quality assurance / QMS
- Quality engineering
- Quality customer interface
- Quality culture
- Quality tools -- metrology, CMM, IT systems
- New product introduction and qualification
- Root cause analysis
- Process improvement / Kaizen / Poke-a-yoke
Skills Required
- Bachelors degree is required.
- Must have at least 15 years experience in quality
- Must have a deep understanding of welding, preferably resistance welding per AWS D17.2.
- Must have experience of AS9100 QMS
- Nadcap (Welding) experience desirable
- Lean 6 Sigma experience is desirable
- Spanish/English proficiency is required
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
