Role and Responsibilities

The Director, Programs, Asia is responsible for leading all aspects of the design, development, and delivery of transformative education programs for partner institutions in Asia. This role might include development and supervision of regional teams comprising Managers and Associates to support their work with partners.

Individuals in the role typically lead 2–4 programs in various stages of the transformation process - strategy, design, development, and implementation. They collaborate closely with Minerva team leaders to manage workstreams, build strong relationships with key partner stakeholders, and create high-quality work products and deliverables. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead all phases of regional partner programs to enable the delivery of exceptional learning experiences for students
  • Building and maintaining positive and productive relationships with partner stakeholders including institutional leaders, administrators, and instructors
  • Managing processes, workstreams, project timelines, and reporting across the partnership
  • Executing program-level tasks efficiently and communicating with partners in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensuring internal projects and partner program deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the high standards of quality Minerva is known for

The Director, Programs, Asia reports to the Managing Director, Programs.

We recruit and develop individuals with the interpersonal, professional, and disciplinary skills needed to support partner programs and achieve critical business objectives and program goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

  • Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant discipline (business, computer science, education, or related field), or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in university-based academic administration, executive education management, education program management, or management consulting
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, and primarily remote organization
  • Experience with instructional design, especially developing skills-focused or interdisciplinary courses
  • Demonstrated interest in education innovation, evidence-based learning, and emerging technologies applied to instructional contexts
  • Flexibility to work across multiple time zones
  • Up to 15% of time travelling to partner institutions in the region
  • Fluency in both English and Korean languages

Desired/ Preferred

  • Postsecondary teaching experience, especially with active learning
  • Experience developing competency-based curricula or interdisciplinary courses
  • Accreditation, program evaluation, and/or faculty development experience 
  • Experience managing and interacting with partners or clients in a consulting capacity
  • Hybrid background combining academia and consulting
  • Highly prefer candidates who reside in Asia (preferably Korea)

Skills Required

  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in university-based academic administration
  • Experience with instructional design
  • Fluency in both English and Korean languages
