We are Loop

We redefine what an earplug should sound, look and feel like. Whether it’s hearing protection or comfort for your ears, Loop enables you to live life at your volume. Our founders Maarten and Dimitri started Loop back with a big idea. And a chronic ringing in their ears. Since then, we’ve helped more than 3,500,000 customers around the world to find quiet, enjoy great experiences and keep unwanted noise at bay.
In 2023 we grew from almost 100 Loopers to over 250 people. And that’s a number we would have to keep updating every month, as we are planning to double the team once again, this year.

Our headquarters are based in Antwerp, but with hubs in Amsterdam, Shanghai, and New York, we’re dotted all over the globe.

Not to brag about it, but we’ve recently won the EY Scale up of the year award, the Deloitte Fast50 award (for the second year in a row) and a couple of other amazing (international) prices. The New York Times named us ‘best earplugs for concerts’ and thousands of noise-sensitive customers call us a ‘life changer’.

This is a hybrid position, and the opportunity is open for candidates in the following Locations (Antwerp, Belgium), (Amsterdam, Netherlands), (New York, New York, USA)., and / or the Bay Area of California, USA.

About the role

"Shoot for the stars, be passionate, and refuse to give up." Known as our core value, "Think Big!" – a value we consider crucial in our role as Director of Product Management. It's not a role for those who shy away from challenges, but for those who thrive on excitement and delivering ground breaking products from 0-1! We are seeking an inspirational leader with a clear vision to help us grow the business, expand our product roadmap, and guide us toward becoming the next unicorn in the industry.

The reason for hiring is simple: the customer needs a voice on the team. Engineers like to build products using the latest technology. Marketing aims to create products that will generate substantial revenue. However, the product manager's sole focus and responsibility are to develop the right products for our customers. We need you to bring focus, develop that roadmap, build our team, and establish strong alliances with key stakeholders who share the same product vision.

We don't need to explain how this works to you. You know the drill and can demonstrate your success. What sets Loop apart? We guarantee you a culture of innovation, an environment where you can bring new ideas to the table and grow your own team. We provide you the autonomy to do what you need to do, with no micromanagement. We will challenge your ideas, but that's not something that concerns you. You have enough data at hand to support your point.

What you'll do:

  • Manage a team of product managers, assisting them in generating ideas, prioritizing projects, and overseeing the creation of innovative products.
  • Data and insights are key parameters for Loop's strategic decision making. Therefore, you'll also manage the Consumer & Market Insights team (CMI) who will inspire and support you and other departments by bringing the consumer voice to the table.
  • Lead product development with engineers and designers to ensure a smooth process.
  • Collaborate closely with our engineers, designers, and researchers to drive the product development process and create products that customers love.
  • Build and nurture a diverse and inclusive team of product managers and leaders skilled in product strategy and execution.
  • Promote a shared vision by aligning everyone on the same page regarding strategic priorities.
  • Define and analyze key performance metrics to measure product success and make data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of Loop's strategic positioning and competitive landscape, translating this knowledge into the development of industry-leading products.
  • Proactively identify and initiate new project opportunities and strategic focus areas.
  • In addition to existing products, identify and initiate new projects, potentially forming new teams to tackle them. \

How you'll do it:

  • You possess over 12 years of experience in product management and/or product design, with the last 6 years in a leadership position.
  • You bring a proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle, including understanding, translating and utilizing rsearch findings across consumer, market, and user insights.
  • You have experience with exquisitely designed hardware and consumer products.
  • You bring critical thinking and analytical leadership experience.
  • You have experience working collaboratively with engineering, design, user research, and consumer & market insights teams. You understand their language, can bridge gaps, and foster a culture of collaboration.
  • You start with intuition but always reinforce it with a data-driven approach.
  • Ideally, you hold a master's degree in engineering, design, or a related field.

Location

  • Our first preference is to have this person work out of either our hub in Antwerp or Amsterdam, where most of our product and leadership team is based. We can provide relocation assistance to these locations.
  • Our second preference would be to hire this person out of our New York, NY hub, which can collaborate with our team there, and serve as a bridge between our home base in Europe and our team in the Bay Area.
  • Our third preference would be to hire this person in our Bay Area hub, where our new hardware team is spinning up.
  • That said, we are open to the right remote candidate, but we value collaboration and teamwork. For new hires outside Amsterdam or Antwerp for leadership positions, we require them to be onsite at least a few days each month and for one week each quarter for our strategy week. With most of the team in these two hubs, we prefer candidates to be working in the same time zone and within an economical travel distance.  We would consider remote candidates in the U.S. only if they have extraordinary capabilities for the role and are open to significant travel.

We've also won a Red Dot award for design... and plenty of other acknowledgements the past few years.
