Overview

Anderson Global is seeking a Director of Post-Merger Integration to own the integration of acquired businesses from signing through full stabilization. This is a senior, high-visibility role responsible for defining integration strategy, making key integration decisions, and delivering integration outcomes across the acquisition portfolio.

You will work closely with the M&A team and Senior Management to establish the integration approach for each transaction, lead cross-functional integration teams spanning Finance, HR, IT, Commercial, and Operations, and act as the primary interface between acquired leadership teams and Anderson Global's executive team during the integration period.

This role owns integration decisions, governance, value creation, and overall outcomes. While Integration Associates and workstream teams support execution and coordination, the Director is ultimately accountable for integration success, synergy realization, business continuity, and stakeholder alignment.

We are specifically looking for someone who has done this before—a practitioner who has led multiple integrations end-to-end inside an acquisitive company and who also brings operating experience from a corporate function or business role. This is not a role for a career advisor; it requires someone who understands what it takes to run and transform a business from the inside.

Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end integration lifecycle for acquisitions, including pre-close integration planning, due diligence input, Day 1 readiness, 100-day planning, and long-term operating model integration.
• Define the integration thesis, target operating model, governance framework, and success metrics for each acquisition in partnership with the deal team and executive sponsors.
• Make key integration decisions regarding operating model design, sequencing, resource allocation, and degree of integration across acquired businesses.
• Build, lead, and coach cross-functional integration teams (Finance, HR, IT, Operations, Commercial), establishing workstream structure, governance, accountability, and operating cadence.
• Serve as the senior point of contact for acquired company leadership, building trust, managing change and cultural integration, and retaining key talent through the transition.
• Own the Integration Management Office (IMO), including governance, decision forums, executive steering committees, risk management, dependency management, and executive reporting.
• Drive synergy realization and value creation, tracking delivery against the deal model and holding functional leaders accountable for commitments and outcomes.
• Own integration budgets, resource planning, and external support requirements, ensuring integrations are appropriately staffed and funded to achieve desired outcomes.
• Assess and determine the need for external advisors, consultants, contractors, or specialist resources to support integration activities when required.
• Identify, escalate, and resolve integration risks, deadlocks, resourcing conflicts, and business-critical issues at the executive level.
• Provide strategic direction and oversight to Integration Associates and cross-functional workstream leads, ensuring execution remains aligned with integration objectives and priorities.
• Institutionalize integration capability at Anderson Global by building and continuously improving playbooks, governance models, tooling, reporting frameworks, and organizational capability.
• Contribute integration expertise to future M&A activity, including operational due diligence, integration cost and complexity assessments, synergy planning, and transaction structuring input.

Ideal Working Style

  • A player-coach who is comfortable setting strategy in the boardroom while also stepping into critical workstreams when required.
  • Commands credibility with C-level stakeholders on both sides of a transaction and navigates ambiguity, competing agendas, and cultural differences with confidence and diplomacy.
  • Outcome-driven, measuring success through synergy realization, business continuity, stakeholder adoption, and talent retention.
  • Makes informed decisions quickly while balancing governance, risk management, and speed of execution.
  • Comfortable operating in a highly acquisitive, fast-changing environment with multiple parallel integrations.

Requirements

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years leading post-merger integrations in-house at an acquisitive corporate organization (as an employee of the acquirer, not solely as an external advisor).
  • Demonstrated track record of owning multiple integrations end-to-end—from pre-close planning through Day 1 execution and stabilization—including cross-border transactions.
  • Proven experience making integration decisions and being accountable for integration outcomes, not solely serving in a project coordination or advisory capacity.
  • Prior operating experience in a corporate function or business role (e.g., Operations, Finance, Corporate Development, General Management) beyond M&A or integration itself.
  • Experience building and leading an Integration Management Office, including executive steering committee governance, risk management, resource planning, and synergy tracking.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, lead senior cross-functional teams without direct authority, and drive accountability across multiple functions.
  • Experience managing integration budgets, resourcing plans, and external support providers.
  • Experience working across global teams, geographies, and time zones; internationally fluent in style and, ideally, in language.

Preferred Experience

  • Earlier-career foundation in M&A advisory, strategy consulting, or transformation (valuable context but must be complemented by significant in-house corporate experience).
  • Experience in professional services, technology, or other people-centric businesses where cultural integration and talent retention are critical to success.
  • Familiarity with carve-outs, ERP and systems consolidations, shared services implementations, or operating model redesign.
  • Experience building, scaling, or professionalizing an integration function within a serial-acquirer environment.
