The Director of Organizational Advancement is a senior leadership position responsible for advancing the Community Health Center’s strategic priorities, strengthening community and philanthropic relationships, identifying opportunities for growth and innovation, and leading high-priority initiatives that cross traditional departmental boundaries.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership team, Board of Directors, community partners, funders, and donors, the Director will help translate the Health Center’s mission and strategic vision into sustainable programs, partnerships, resources, and measurable community impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translates the organization’s strategic plan and goals into specific initiatives and high-priority projects, identify advancement opportunities and track progress in meeting goals.
  • Builds and coordinates plans for individual giving to the organization (i.e., general donations, major gifts, memorial donations).
  • Develops and implements processes for donor recognition, involvement and stewardship in the community.
  • Advocates for the organization by spending majority of time in direct contact with donors and/or donor prospects in meetings, phone conversations, events, etc.
  • Collaborating with the  Chief Executive Officer and staff, identifies, cultivates and solicits prospective donors through education and involvement..
  • Guides and involves development staff and volunteers in development planning, donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
  • Recruit, train and coach development volunteers for identified projects and committees.
  • Provide leadership for the Board of Directors Advancement Committee.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing Advancement Office budget.
  • Works closely with the CEO to identify, cultivate and request funding from foundations, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions and identifying and cultivating prospective foundations.
  • Develops and communicates a clear narrative regarding the Health Center’s mission, accomplishments, community impact, and future direction.
  • Ensures external communication consistently reflects the organization’s mission, priorities, and value to the community.
  • Translate organizational data and outcomes into compelling stories demonstrating community impact.
  •  Helps strengthen leadership systems, cross-department collaboration, succession planning, change management, and the organizational infrastructure needed for future growth.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 5 + years’ experience in development activities including donor cultivation, major gift fundraising, planned giving, capital campaigns, direct mail, special events and stewardship and communications.
