CWD is looking for a Director of Operations to join our exceptionally talented and collaborative team! This posting reflects an existing vacancy within our Niagara Falls location. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing three functional leaders — Warehouse, Logistics, and Information Systems — each with their own teams. The Director of Operations is responsible for end-to-end corporate project oversight, driving operational excellence, improving processes, and ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate is organized, a critical thinker, and brings leadership maturity with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach.

This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours a week on-site. Our hours of operation are 8:15am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
  • Oversee and lead three operational leaders and their teams (Warehouse, Logistics, and Information Systems), providing mentorship, guidance, and development opportunities.
  • Train and develop managers and teams by identifying skill gaps and creating actionable development plans.
  • Establish individual and team performance goals, conduct one-on-one feedback sessions, and complete annual performance reviews.
  • Empower leaders and teams by sharing “the why” behind initiatives, aligning departmental objectives with corporate strategy.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Participate in recruitment and onboarding of operational leadership roles.
  • Lead and participate in cross-departmental meetings, including leadership, project, and strategy sessions.
Corporate Project Oversight
  • Lead all corporate projects end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business objectives, budgets, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Partner with all departments to define project scope, set milestones, assign resources, and monitor progress.
  • Identify and manage project risks, roadblocks, and dependencies, escalating as needed to the CEO or leadership team.
  • Oversee project implementation across the company.
  • Track project KPIs, deliverables, and outcomes to ensure successful completion and post-project evaluation.
  • Drive process improvement and standardization across projects to increase efficiency, scalability, and quality of execution.
  • Drive the development of corporate strategy and establish a comprehensive project portfolio aligned to business objectives, ensuring prioritization of initiatives that deliver the greatest strategic value and operational impact
Operations & Process Optimization
  • Oversee end-to-end operational strategy for Warehouse, Logistics, and Information Systems functions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize supply chain efficiency, warehouse productivity, and IT/Dev system performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate inventory forecasting, timely order fulfillment, and multi-location distribution.
  • Develop and implement corporate processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
  • Monitor KPIs across operations, including units per hour, order fulfillment metrics, project milestones, and UAT success.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained operational environment
Systems & Technology
  • Oversee ERP, WMS, and other business system implementations, integrations, and testing.
  • Ensure IT and Development initiatives are delivered successfully, aligned with business needs, and optimized for operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams to identify automation opportunities, process improvements, and digital solutions.
Other
  • Undertake related duties as assigned to achieve department objectives and company goals
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field; PMP designation is a plus.
  • 10+ years in business operations, logistics, ERP/business applications, or related fields.
  • 7+ years leadership experience managing multiple leaders or sub-departments.
  • Proven experience leading warehouse, logistics, and IT/Dev functions.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate project management, process improvement, and business system implementation; CCBA or Six Sigma Black Belt is a plus.
  • ERP/WMS experience required; experience with inventory forecasting, order fulfillment, and multi-location distribution.
  • Strong vendor and cost management experience, including negotiation of high-value contracts.
  • Returns management, distribution center operations, and order processing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, IF statements).
  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Analytical, highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and ever-changing environment.
  • Critical thinker with a high-energy, roll-up-the-sleeves attitude.

What We Offer
Our expected compensation range for this role is $120,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually. The salary you may receive will be determined based on the skills, experience, and qualifications you bring to the position, as well as how they align with the responsibilities and scope of the Director of Operations role. CWD evaluates compensation using a consistent and equitable framework to ensure fair and transparent pay practices across the organization.
