Director of Operations & Technology 

at Cardamom 

Hybrid in Madison, WI or anywhere in the United States

 

Your Role: 

The Director of Operations & Technology owns the day-to-day execution of the project funnel for the Operations team and leads the Automation Center of Excellence. 

 

This role is responsible for business process development, process improvement and automation project work. The Director of Operations & Technology will lead a small team and drive process improvement through automation and cross-functional work. This role blends people management, systems configuration, and business analysis to keep the organization running efficiently and scaling smoothly. 

 

As a Director of Operations & Technology at Cardamom, you will: 

Operations & Administration 

  • Manage day-to-day operations across facilities, quality, and general business operations 
  • Ensure operational processes are documented, followed, and continuously improved 
  • Partner with leadership to identify operational gaps and implement scalable solutions 

IT Systems & Automation 

  • Administer and configure enterprise IT systems (e.g., business applications, internal tools) 
  • Lead systems configuration, optimization, and automation efforts 
  • Build or manage workflows using Power Platform or similar automation tools 
  • Collaborate with IT vendors and internal stakeholders 
  • Support DevOps-related initiatives 

Business Analysis & Process Improvement 

  • Act as a business analyst on operational and cross-functional initiatives 
  • Analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and design improved processes 
  • Translate business needs into system and process requirements 
  • Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects spanning multiple departments 
  • Collaborate with leadership to build and support Power BI reports and dashboards 

People & Team Management 

  • Manage and develop IT, automation, and/or operations team members 
  • Set priorities, manage workload, and provide coaching and feedback 
  • Support project execution by coordinating resources and timelines 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration 

Our ideal Director of Operations & Technology will have:  

  • 8+ years of professional experience in operations, systems administration, business analysis, or related roles 
  • Experience leading teams and/or projects 
  • Experience configuring and administering enterprise IT systems 
  • Hands-on experience with Power Platform or other automation tools 
  • Strong process improvement and analytical skills 
  • Comfortability working across functions and tackling a wide range of business problems 
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders 

Bonus points for experience with the following: 

  • Experience in DevOps 
  • Experience leading larger or more complex cross-functional initiatives 
  • Background in fast-growing or operationally complex environments 
  • Experience with the consulting and/or healthcare IT industries
