The Role
LSEG is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Director, Operational Resilience – Resilience by Design.
Resilience by Design is a strategic approach to operational resilience that emphasizes embedding resilience principles directly into the architecture, processes, and culture of an organization—from the outset, rather than as an afterthought. Key principals include:
- Preparedness – anticipating risks and designing systems to handle them.
- Adaptability – enabling systems and teams to adjust quickly to changing conditions.
- Recovery – ensuring rapid restoration of critical functions within acceptable limits.
- Failing Forward – using disruptions as learning opportunities to improve future resilience
This role is pivotal in shaping and embedding a new Resilience Operating Model across the Group, with a strong emphasis on integrating resilience principles into the design and delivery of critical business services. Reporting to the Group Director, Operational Resilience, the successful candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration—spanning Risk, Technology, and Third Party Risk Management—to ensure regulatory alignment and operationalisation of resilience controls. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide resilience strategy, and enhance governance within the LSEG Group.

- Support the management of a resilience governance framework to ensure sufficient oversight of key policy implementation and compliance as well as resilience (and underlying operational risk) escalation and decision making across Business Divisions
- Partnership with second line to align resilience considerations into appropriate aspects of the risk management programme including taxonomy
- Support the creation of key department and service-based metrics, KPIs and reports against key asset dependencies such as technology, data and supplier risks to enable management visibility into emerging risk as well as current vulnerabilities.
- Support/ Advise Business Division representatives to produce these metrics, and to interpret the results to produce the “so what?” analysis; supporting the prioritisation of issues to be remediated
- Partnership and influence of strategic business leaders to manage Group specific resilience enhancements including identification of planning improvements and execution of vulnerability remediation based on strategic priorities
- Represents the Group at regulatory and industry meetings and conducts regular peer to peer benchmarking
