Disc surgery center seeking a full time Director Of Nursing to join our location Tarzana .Our cutting edge facility will have two OR's and specialize in spine, orthopedic and pain management cases

The Director of Nursing is responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivery in the facility. As a Registered Nurse, the Director of Nursing is also responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating patient care from admission to discharge.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Provides leadership and oversight for the Pre-Op and PACU departments.
  • Assumes administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Administrator, as assigned.
  • Provides clear direction and guidance to staff, promoting efficiency, teamwork, and accountability.
  • Assists with performance evaluations, coaching, and development of assigned staff.
  • Serves as the facility's Education Coordinator and supports ongoing staff competency and professional development.

Patient Care

  • Assesses, plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates patient care from admission through discharge.
  • Ensures safe, high-quality patient care consistent with facility policies, procedures, and evidence-based practices.
  • Correlates clinical data with patients' medical and nursing care needs to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Demonstrates competence in assessing, treating, and caring for patients across all age groups using age-specific and developmental care principles.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensures continuity of care through effective communication and documentation.
  • Ensures patients and families receive timely and accurate information regarding their care.

Quality Improvement & Compliance

  • Oversees the facility's Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility standards.
  • Recognizes and adheres to the legal and professional scope of nursing practice.
  • Upholds and supports the DISC Compliance Program and all organizational policies.
  • Maintains complete, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with established standards.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Effectively communicates with patients, families, physicians, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Promotes a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
  • Participates as an active member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Safety & Operations

  • Ensures adherence to facility safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Demonstrates safe operation of equipment and promptly reports or addresses unsafe conditions.
  • Assists with operational responsibilities, including financial management, inventory counts, and departmental resource management.
  • Assists with housekeeping and environmental safety activities as needed.

Professional Development

  • Maintains current clinical knowledge, skills, and competencies required for the position.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Serves as a role model for clinical excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Professional Standards

  • Maintains professional appearance and conduct in accordance with facility standards.
  • Demonstrates courtesy, respect, cooperation, and professionalism in all interactions.
Qualifications

Education Preferred: Bachelors of Science in Nursing {BSN}

Great, if you have: Masters of Science in Nursing {MSN}

Experience Required:

  • At least five {5} years of nursing and leadership experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the medical team and respond quickly and efficiently

Experience Desired:

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
  • Experience in Spine, Ortho, or Pain Management License and Certification Required:
  • Registered Nurse in the state of California - Current and in good standing
  • BLS certificate
  • ACLS certificate

Position Reports to: Administrator

Salary:  $130,000.00 - $160,000.00

Job Type: Fulltime

Standard Shift: Monday - Friday, Mid AM shift, variable hour

Medical Specialties:  Ambulatory Surgery Center

Physical setting:  Outpatient clinic and Ambulatory surgery center
