The Role

Job Description:

Responsible for risk management and trading activities with limited direction from more senior staff. Strong knowledge of regional demand balances, understanding of risk management, hedging and trading strategies, as well as ability to work with internal and external partners.

  • Works independently and is responsible for risk management and trading activities
  • Manage Northeast gas exposures; physical and financial within defined trading limits
  • Responsible for regional trading / market views.
  • Executes transactions in accordance with established trading strategies and risk parameters
  • Contributes to the formulation of long-term strategies used for desk, sales, and origination market views
  • May be needed to provide technical and product support to more junior associates

Required skills:

  • Strong knowledge of risk management, hedging and trading strategies as well as market characteristics
  • Has a thorough knowledge of product area including market liquidity and volatility, pricing, and trading/hedging strategies of the Eastern natural gas markets
  • Understanding of physical markets
  • Five years of Eastern natural gas market experience required
