Job Description
The Director of North America Product Marketing Operations role is responsible for executing on the data, marketing processes, and marketing governance to drive efficiency, consistency and scale in support of content production across North American marketing teams at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Through a combination of technical, process, and industry knowledge, this role will be essential in streamlining our marketing operations thereby enabling the business to consistently deliver high-quality, timely content across channels and vehicles. In this role you and your team will partner closely with marketing, data, technology, product, and compliance teams to assess needs, create solutions and execute on ways to drive operational efficiencies.This position is an excellent opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders across a broad range of content to help innovate and make a lasting impact on how our work is done. It is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail, complex project management, stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with senior leadership and key business partners to streamline data operations and align marketing efficiency goals with overall business strategy.
- Provide leadership and operational support to the global presentation production teams, North America marketing partners, and direct reports, which include the following functions: Data operations, Marketing governance, and marketing process automation.
- Manage and optimize cross-functional teams, foster creativity, and drive innovative marketing operation strategies to elevate efficiency across the NA marketing department.
- Lead strategic collaboration with marketing, data, and technology to streamline and ensure data integrity, improve automation processes, and elevate data operations.
- Measure impact and provide regular executive level reporting on projects.
- Initiate and define annual roadmaps and oversee participation in special projects related to data operations and marketing efficiency.
- Collaborate with technology to optimize marketing tools and platforms. Stay apprised of industry trends and emerging technologies to implement innovative marketing solutions; evaluate new and existing technology to increase and improve user experience.
- Oversee internal communications and training strategies to enhance employee engagement with new and existing marketing processes.
- Articulate the future state of how the marketing team can function, including best practices of how to work (operations), how to best take advantage of technology capabilities (platform and data), and how marketing capabilities evolve in-line with marketing strategy.
- Enhance platforms to support efficient and scalable processes for reporting and analytics, data automation, and marketing operations.
- Operate with an ownership mindset, proactively identify problems, and engage the right people to understand and creatively solve them.
- Foster a collaborative, forward-thinking, and results-driven culture within the marketing department and beyond.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular evaluations, and provide professional development opportunities.
- Attend relevant industry conferences, corporate sessions, internal meetings and 1:1s.
- Extensive MS PowerPoint, Excel, and content management system (Seismic) work related to data operations and marketing collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- 7 - 10 years of relevant experience in finance (Asset management experience preferred).
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of content management tools (Vermillion, Seismic, Accent, etc) preferred.
- Excellent strategic and analytical skills to review processes, solve complex problems and identify improved methods for efficiency.
- Proven experience as a senior marketing leader, preferably in a managerial role with people leadership experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Track record of driving operational efficiencies within a task, role, and/or department.
- Experience with MS Power Platform and SharePoint.
- Understanding of workflow and process management tools.

We are a client-centric, relationship-based business. Working together, in-person, is foundational to how we achieve results. Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.
Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $140,800 – $150,000 per year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
