The Role

The Director of Marketing develops and executes property marketing and media strategies that position Baccarat Hotel New York in the market, drive awareness of the hotel and brand, and support business goals. This position is responsible for building brand-aligned programming, partnerships, content, and storytelling that strengthen the hotel's presence locally, nationally, and globally. The Director of Marketing will work closely with the corporate marketing team, hotel leadership, and agency partners to bring the Baccarat Hotel New York experience to life across all relevant channels.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marketing and communications strategies for the hotel and its outlets to create a cohesive and integrated marketing platform supporting hotel performance goals.
  • Create and execute robust, unique, brand-aligned programming and partnerships that drive awareness, traffic, and revenue. Execute brand-wide programs and partnerships at the hotel level.
  • With the food and beverage team and partners, develop strategies and programs to drive traffic and revenue to F&B outlets from both hotel guests and local guests.
  • With the corporate marketing team, manage PR and influencer agencies to achieve favorable publicity for the hotel and brand locally, regionally, nationally, and globally.
  • Evaluate media and influencer requests, secure approvals, coordinate reservations, communicate details to the hotel and corporate marketing teams, and act as a brand ambassador during these stays and visits.
  • Write and edit copy for internal and external communications, including websites, advertisements, marketing/sales materials, and presentations.
  • With the corporate marketing team, manage creative resources to develop marketing/sales materials and collateral for all departments. Secure necessary approvals for all creative.
  • Oversee photo and video shoots on property, including hotel-arranged and third-party shoots (paid or media/partner). Secure applicable location agreements, insurance, rights agreements, and releases.
  • With the revenue management team, develop marketing strategies and offers that align with rate and channel strategies. Support efforts across all channels, including CRO, OTA, and GDS.
  • Maintain owned and third-party websites and the app with relevant hotel offerings, hours, and information. Ensure an optimized user experience through language, imagery, and design.
  • Coordinate with the corporate digital marketing team to include hotel content in brand emails, send hotel-specific marketing emails, and maintain transactional emails.
  • Coordinate with the corporate digital marketing team and the brand’s social media agency on hotel content and community management.
  • Support implementation of the company’s CRM and loyalty programs at the hotel level.
  • Support the People Operations team with brand training and internal brand initiatives. Support all departments in meeting and exceeding brand standards.
  • Professionally represent the hotel and brand at community and industry organizations and events.
  • Continually monitor the competitive landscape, city/regional news and events, and industry news, and share insights with the hotel and corporate marketing teams.
  • Maintain the marketing calendar, prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports, and attend regular meetings/calls with the marketing, sales, and revenue teams.
  • Communicate marketing news and highlights to the hotel team. Post content on the internal mobile app.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of marketing experience in a luxury or upper-upscale lifestyle hotel property or in a luxury retail brand.
  • Skilled in the pillars of an integrated marketing plan, including social media/influencer marketing, email marketing, content marketing, advertising, sales promotion, events/production, and public relations.
  • Operational excellence with expertise in assessing and deploying internal and external resources to execute marketing plans.
  • Possesses well-developed presentation and writing skills.
  • Positive and energized professional presence. Collaborative problem solver who requires minimal supervision in a fluid work environment.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Canva.
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college; focus on Marketing is preferred but not required.
  • Flexible and willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
