Turing’s mission is to accelerate superintelligence to drive real economic progress. Headquartered in San Francisco, Turing works with frontier AI labs to generate high-quality datasets, reinforcement learning environments, and frontier research benchmarks that improve model capabilities in software engineering, enterprise knowledge work, and advanced STEM reasoning. In software engineering, Turing is the largest and longest-running data provider in the category. Turing also works with Fortune 500 enterprises across financial services, life sciences, healthcare, retail, automotive, and CPG to build and deploy end-to-end agentic AI systems inside mission-critical workflows. The Finance team, led by our Chief Financial Officer, is building the capabilities Turing needs as it scales toward the public markets: sourcing and closing deals, deploying strategic capital, and telling our story to investors with rigor.
This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works closely with the CEO and board.
The RoleWe are hiring a leader to own inorganic growth and capital markets strategy on the Finance team. You will own M&A end to end, build and run our strategic investment (ventures) activity, and stand up the investor relations and IPO-readiness function. This is a mandate to own a function, not just execute deals, with direct exposure to the CFO, CEO, and board.
Why This Role MattersTuring is preparing for the public markets. Success in this role will directly shape how Turing grows through acquisitions and strategic investments, how it allocates capital, and how investors understand the business ahead of an IPO.
You will build these functions from the ground up, creating the M&A playbook, ventures program, and investor narrative that Turing will rely on as a public company.
What You Will Own- Investor Relations & IPO Readiness. Build the IR function and narrative: positioning, metrics, and messaging for current and prospective investors. Support financing rounds, cap-table strategy, and board and shareholder communications. Lead IR programs across finance, legal, and operations, and prepare leadership and management for investor scrutiny.
- Mergers & Acquisitions. Own the full M&A lifecycle, including strategic investing: thesis and sourcing, valuation and modeling, diligence, negotiation, and close.
- M&A Playbook & Pipeline. Build and codify Turing’s M&A playbook and pipeline as a repeatable engine.
- Build-Buy-Partner Decisions. Partner with product, engineering, and GTM leaders on build-buy-partner decisions and post-close integration.
- Strategic Finance & Planning. Partner with the CFO and Strategic Finance on companywide planning, capital allocation, and 0-to-1 strategic initiatives. Translate market and competitive intelligence into recommendations for the executive team.
- A deal leader ready to own a function. You have sourced, led, and closed multiple transactions, and you are ready to step up to owning a full function, including standing up IR and ventures from scratch.
- Grounded in banking, private equity, or growth investing. Your foundation is in investment banking, private equity, or growth-stage venture, applied in-house at high-growth technology companies.
- Rigorous on valuation and structure. You bring strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal-structuring judgment.
- Board-ready. You communicate with executives and the board clearly and credibly.
- 10+ years across fundraising and M&A, with investment banking, private equity, or growth-stage venture foundations.
- A track record of sourcing and closing multiple M&A transactions at high-growth technology companies.
- Direct experience with corporate venture / strategic investing.
- Hands-on exposure to IR and IPO readiness, in-house or advising through an IPO process.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and deal-structuring judgment, paired with executive and board-level communication.
- M&A experience at a company through pre-IPO hyper-growth.
- Experience in AI/ML, developer tools, data infrastructure, or marketplaces.
- Prior BizOps or strategic-finance seat at a company that scaled through IPO.
- Established network across the AI founder, VC, and banking ecosystems.
- Full-time, hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $230,000-$310,000 USD. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for variable compensation, equity and additional benefits.
Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and other relevant business considerations.
