Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Director for International Business Development - Canada & Latin America to join the team located in Ottawa, CA.
Position Overview:
This is a senior leadership position located in Ottawa, Canada. Candidates with experience working with the Canadian Armed Forces and/or in Canada's aerospace industry are strongly encouraged to apply.
This role within the Boeing International Business Development team is responsible for all defense sales and marketing activity within Canada and Latin America. This position will be critical to achieving Boeing objectives of capturing key platform and service sales opportunities within the Region.
Position Responsibilities:
- Leverage resources and knowledge of Boeing products, services, processes and operations to support customer commitments, gain competitive advantage and foster business growth.
- Create, maintain and advance customer relationships to become a trusted business partner with multiple international customers.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of customer business, culture, geopolitical environment, requirements and related topics to shape emerging customer requirements.
- Interface with customers and internal Boeing resources including Boeing Global, Boeing Global Government Operations, Boeing Global Services (BGS), Communication, and Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) to keep all parties apprised of key issues and path to resolution.
- Ability to lead and coordinate a large group of sales professionals who pursue sales and campaign activities through executing strategies and tactics to foster business growth with acceptable margins.
- Research, review and analyze publicly available information about competitors' products and services and leverage it to improve competitive position and to secure customer and vendor commitments on behalf of The Boeing Company.
- Ability to develop relevant industry relationships at the appropriate level, as relevant for local collaborations in support of the BDS International Strategic Partnerships organization.
- Support business case analysis, develops and obtains authorization to proceed with campaigns to provide customer solutions.
- Manage internal budgets in support of international campaigns.
- Assist in preparing proposals by developing themes and discriminators and reviewing the statement of work, cost estimates, executive summary and pricing from the customer's perspective.
- Identify emerging talent within Boeing and in customer and supplier contacts to attract and retain the next generation of Boeing leaders.
- Latin American marketing and sales responsibilities will largely entail managing a sales team and minimal travel is anticipated.
This position is expected to be onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Ottawa, Canada.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Proven experience interfacing directly with military customers and processes with a demonstrated understanding of customers' organization, requirements, planning and procurement processes.
- Experience working with international defense customers in shaping and developing requirements.
- 7 + years' experience within the defense industry or military service.
- Must be eligible for Secret Level II security clearance.
- Must consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Individuals must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience working directly with the Canadian Armed Forces, or provincial/federal defense procurement processes OR equivalent CAF operational experience (rank and role considered as equivalent to industry experience).
- Experience leading campaigns in Canada
- Demonstrated leadership skills of a seasoned sales or military leader, with the ability to lead the company to wins internationally, drive orders to closure and collaborate across the business
- Candidates must be fluent in English.
- Essential qualification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- 12 + years' experience within the defense industry or military service

Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience.
Salary pay range - $127,000.00 - $227,000.00 CAD
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance Level II from the Canadian government. Requirements to obtain a secret security clearance can be found at:
