BMO Insurance is embarking on a journey to modernize many of our core platforms supporting our business in Canada. This is a multi-year initiative involving the replacement of several legacy platforms and integrating the new solution into many of the Bank's other technology platforms.

This role will lead the technology efforts on the program, providing a single point of leadership across all of the Technology & Operations teams involved in the project, and working directly with the business leadership on the program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the architecture alignment, technology delivery, and associated financial management of the program, with overall accountability for the end-state technology solutions.

Specific job expectations include:

  • Builds relationships with and works with stakeholders to understand the platform vision, align and deliver on the roadmap.
  • Advises on business rules, functional/technical specifications, and process interpretations for in-scope applications, process flows, systems, and business solutions​.
  • Undertakes prioritization of work of a component or group of components that are used by customers/end users​.
  • Understands the competitive and strategic position of the organization, in order to deliver best-in-industry products​.
  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a senior leadership resource across BMO.
  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to multiple, interdependent, complex problems.
  • Fosters strong internal and external networks and works with and across multiple teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Seasoned expert with extensive industry experience in the Life & Annuity Insurance business in Canada
  • Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
  • Demonstrated history of delivering multi-year programs in the range of $20-50MM
  • Experience with cloud-based and Software-as-a-Service vendor solutions
  • Ability to lead a team of developers, architects, development managers across geographies
  • Complex Problem Solving.
  • Verbal & written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary:

$113,900.00 - $211,800.00

Pay Type:

Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
