About This Role

The role involves driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of innovation for the Biogen North America commercial organization. This role will focus on innovating and modernizing internal operations and processes for Biogen North America via creative experimentation with new pilots and by introducing new external tools, best practices and technologies.
The Director, Innovative Growth will be a key contributor to a team responsible for executing high impact innovation and enterprise modernization initiatives to drive growth across the North American commercial organization. This leader has shown the ability to lead and execute within complex healthcare organizations, possesses a deep understanding of the broad US healthcare landscape and an ability to connect emerging healthcare trends back to business needs. This leader will work collaboratively and cross-functionally to define problem statements that can be addressed by new tools, technologies, and processes. This role reports to the Senior Director, Head of Innovative Growth and will be responsible for the execution of innovative growth projects as well as continued management of strategic relationships.
What You’ll Do
Support Biogen North America’s Enterprise Modernization program, working cross-functionally to continuously drive new initiatives to modernize and rethink existing ways of working and internal operations and processes
Source and bring in novel, external solutions-providers, vendors, experts, and best practices to drive growth within our businesses
Develop business cases and investment proposals for innovation initiatives
Drive cross-functional alignment, coordination, and communication to ensure the successful execution and delivery of innovation initiatives
Source and communicate external insights, research, and points of view on innovation
Support the annual “Innovation Pitch” event to showcase external start-ups, vendors, and solutions providers that address key challenges and needs for our business areas
Arrange events/discussions/panels for leaders and colleagues, featuring key innovation topics and external speakers and experts
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree in healthcare related field or equivalent
Minimum 10 years' experience in a healthcare or related industry, preferably in healthcare strategy, consulting, and innovation
Experience and deep understanding of healthcare ecosystems, with a specialization in biopharma
Deep experience across healthcare commercial disciplines (e.g. management consulting, marketing, market access, strategy, business development)
Strategic thinker: understands the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures, as well as how and when to influence for change
Ability to drive and lead through change and ambiguity
Proven ability to project manage complex and innovative programs cross-functionally and with external partners
Ability to clearly and succinctly convey ideas to key internal organizational stakeholders
Ability to lead within the matrix. Knows how to establish and maintain momentum both through formal channels and the informal network
Ability to work independently in executing against multiple strategic projects simultaneously under tight and rapidly evolving timelines
Additional Information
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
