As the Director of Infrastructure Technical Program Management, you will be leading a team of Infrastructure TPMs who are responsible for managing technical programs across the Roblox stack - focused on developing and delivering innovative, reliable and scalable technology solutions to power Roblox. You will bring strategic leadership, innovation, and execution prowess necessary to transform how we build, run and evolve Cloud and on-prem infrastructure at Roblox. Not only will you support a team, but you will also lead the team on strategic initiatives, roll up your sleeves and deliver.

You will report into our Senior Director, Head of TPM in our San Mateo, CA offices.

You Will:

  • Define and lead the technical execution and strategy for multiple program portfolios.
  • Clearly communicate technology, requirements, goals, and milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management leadership to shape and update the organization’s long-term strategy.
  • Develop comprehensive program plans with your team, drive execution, and keep the organization and leadership updated on progress.
  • Implement process improvements across multiple teams and functions to streamline effectiveness, efficiency and productivity
  • Set milestones, communicate program statuses, and address potential setbacks with your teams.
  • Ensure the team’s work aligns with the highest priority needs of partner teams and customers.
  • Influence, drive and deliver the product roadmap in support of innovation, cost-to-serve, scale, performance, quality and reliability and other strategic business initiatives
  • Coordinate across organizations to align plans, manage dependencies, drive execution, and deliver comprehensive solutions.
  • Lead a medium-sized TPM organization within Infrastructure.
  • Enable a high-performance culture, while mentoring and supporting the team with empathy
  • Oversee people management, including hiring, developing organizational structure, conducting performance reviews, providing continuous feedback, and fostering career growth.

You Have:

  • Been a technical leader with domain expertise in systems and software used to manage Cloud and on-prem Infrastructure
  • 15+ years of experience in software industry driving the build of large-scale systems
  • 10+ years of experience leading people and teams to deliver technical solutions and outcomes
  • Experience building, scaling and leading a team of TPMs and developing a strong team culture
  • Experience with establishing and collaborating in working relationships across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with identifying critical technical problems and opportunities
  • Experience with delivering end to end technical programs through roadmapping and reliable execution
  • Domain expertise in system or software engineering
  • Capability of establishing working relationships across diverse teams
  • Technical depth in infrastructure systems
  • Communication effectiveness

  • Knowledgeable about user needs, scoping, planning, execution and delivery
  • Flexible around process, using process as a tool when it makes sense for a team

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.

Annual Salary Range

$367,550$413,440 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).

We are requiring employees to be in the office three days a week – with core days being Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Mondays and Fridays, employees may choose to work remotely, although the office will still be open.
