As a Director of Infrastructure Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Compute Platforms and Network Services under Corporate Technology, you will manage large technical areas or multiple smaller ones, utilizing advanced knowledge to resolve complex issues. You will collaborate across different technical areas, anticipate multidisciplinary needs, and implement operational plans. Your role includes managing key senior stakeholders, ensuring team compliance with standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements. You will promote multiple complex projects, processes, and initiatives, and be accountable for the function's objectives. You will handle staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss, while mentoring and coaching infrastructure engineers, team leaders, and technologists.
Job responsibilities
- Manages technical areas within Network infrastructure engineering, collaborates with others across different technical areas, and anticipates the needs of multiple disciplines within the function and manages and implements corporate and divisional operational plans and provides broad direction to teams, team leads, and supervisors.
- Manages key senior stakeholders and ensures teams deliver in accordance with compliance standards, risk and security, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Drives multiple complex projects, processes, and initiatives.
- Develops and executes the function's objectives with accountability for outcomes.
- Handles staffing, budget, and relevant profit and loss.
- Mentors and coaches infrastructure engineers, team leaders and technologists.
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation.
- Ensure a clear portfolio of objectives and key results is maintained for supported entities.
- Ensure client's awareness of projects and ensure technology partners are supported in their effective implementation.
- Acts as a point of escalation and advocate for customer-first approach while handling Infrastructure related issues.
- Boost client awareness of Network Services products offering, roadmaps, organizational structure & operational scorecard. Ensure client feedback/service requests are collected regularly.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Formal training or certification on enterprise network infrastructure engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Hands-on experience in enterprise firewalls, load balancers, forward/reverse proxies and routing/switching.
- Applied engineering/architecture experience and formal training or certification on infrastructure/software engineering concepts.
- Experience in leading technologists/team leaders to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resiliency.
- Excited and passionate to manage infrastructure estate for a high volume of external connectivity requests a day
- Highly experienced in Management, IT Service Management, Project Management, Business Architecture and Process re-engineering.
- Strong influencing skills and a good track record of collaboration in a global matrix organization
- Experience in large-scale multinational corporations and organizations Technology ecosystem and managing cross-functional teams of infrastructure engineers
- Experience in hiring, developing, and recognizing talent and exposure to managing and developing budgets.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Integration between different OEM vendors and Implementation of Zero-Trust Network Access in a global organization.
- Understanding or have experience with Agile and Lean philosophies, including experience with JIRA and Confluence
- Solid financial management with a proven track record in the management of multi-million-dollar budgets.
- Expert implementation experience in business partner connectivity and perimeter edge connectivity.
- Working knowledge of Amazon AWS (Amazon Web Services) VPC and related experience (EC2, Transit Gateway, NAT (Network Address Translation) Gateway will be a plus.
- Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs (Application Programming Interface), and modern software languages is desirable.
