As Director of Identity and Access Management, you will lead a highly visible program that helps ensure patients, clinicians, and employees have secure, reliable access to the applications and data they need to deliver and support exceptional care.
We are seeking a strategic, business-focused IAM leader to define and execute the enterprise vision for identity, access, directory, and authentication services. In this role, you will lead global internal and partner teams supporting both automated and manual provisioning for mission-critical systems, while advancing the organization’s future-state IAM capabilities. You will play a key role in modernizing identity technologies, strengthening governance, enabling identity lifecycle management, and supporting privileged access, authentication, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Success in this role requires a leader who can partner effectively with business and technology stakeholders, guide teams through complex challenges, and drive practical solutions that improve security, efficiency, and user experience across the enterprise. You will also work closely with hospital and market leadership, clinicians, and frontline care teams to solve meaningful access challenges in an environment where reliability, speed, and trust matter every day.
Responsibilities- Leads Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy, execution, architecture, design and delivery for Tenet.
- Drives IAM road maps, priorities, planning, and budgeting.
- Guides and directs the provisioning and access process for Tenet and implements best practices to automate provisioning across the enterprise.
- Manages and optimizes identity governance tools, Access Management tools such as Entra, Okta, Privileged Access Management tool (PAM) such as CyberArk, Single Sign on SSO capabilities and other IAM solutions.
- Drives customer-centric innovation, using industry insights, user feedback, and data to inform IAM strategy and design
- Introduces transformational IAM best practices to drive user adoption and change.
- Manage and prioritized critical projects and work with stakeholders to drive business impact.
- Work with and manage vendors, outside consultants, and other third parties to improve information security within the organization.
- Work with the leaders within the IAM organization to ensure they are gathering and analyzing data, reporting customer satisfaction levels, and ensuring achievement of SLA metrics
- Work with internal and external Audit teams to ensure IAM systems are compliant with regulations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and communicated IAM strategies effectively.
- Oversee the resolution of IAM related security incidents, ensuring timely identification, investigation and remediation of access control issues.
- Lead our global IAM team across multiple locations in the US, Philippines and India.
The ideal candidate is a trusted security leader who can translate complex identity and security concepts into clear, practical guidance for business leaders, technical teams, and frontline stakeholders. This individual brings a balanced, risk-based approach to security—combining strong technical judgment with business pragmatism—and can influence decisions, build alignment, and drive meaningful outcomes across a large, complex organization.
Education Required:
- Four-year degree in any business/technical area highly preferred; or equivalent experience to include 5-7+ years relevant work experience.
- Certification Preferred - CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional, Information Systems Security Control Consortium (ISC2) or HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP)
Required Experience:
The role will require the candidate to have a wide range of both technical and management skills. A minimum of 8-10 years of experience that includes the following:
- Solid understanding of IAM principles and engineering
- In-depth knowledge of multifactor authentication (MFA) architectures, implementations and best practices
- Working knowledge of multiple IAM systems (traditional and cloud)
- Experience planning and managing budget and spend
- Strong written and verbal skills coupled with the ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong project management and problem/conflict resolution skills
- Effective prioritization and time management skills with the ability to communicate and present effectively to the senior leadership
- Ability to adjust with changing work requirements and priorities, demanding deadlines, operational crisis situations, as well as being able to keep pace with multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Up to 25% travel. We will run an MVR on the final candidate.
