MANAGES:                                                         HR Manager, HR Trainer, HR Coordinator, Wardrobe

 

Job Summary:

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and operating a comprehensive Human Resources Department.  Responsible for establishing an operational system for all applicable facets of Human Resources operations including by not limited to leadership and strategic planning, policies and procedures, recruitment and retention, employee benefits, employee wellness program, performance evaluation and counseling, employee development and training, compensation, employee problem-solving process, legal and regulatory compliance, and effective communication with all entities through the exercise of discretion and the use of independent judgment.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the strategic management of all functional areas of Human Resources (HR): training and development, staffing and recruitment, employee relations, and employee benefits
  • Responsible for the development of HR budgets
  • Creates recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with compliant HR methodologies and labor laws, customizing to the needs of the company.
  • Responsible for the direct management of personnel in the Human Resources department
  • Manages and produces employee turnover reports
  • Responsible for the management and resolution of employee complaints and grievances
  • Develops a compliant pre-screening process and ensures that all applicants are pre-screened and presented to hiring managers in a timely manner
  • Develops a compliant exit interview process and ensures compliant exit interviews and procedures are followed
  • Responsible for developing a compliant HR records retention process, which includes but is not limited to, compliantly and maintaining records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization
  • Ensure that strict confidentiality is kept in all matters relating to protected employee information
  • Serves as a consultant and business partner to operational managers and senior management regarding strategic management of personnel in their departments, employee hiring, termination, advancements, promotion, discipline, and all other personnel matters. Ensures all personnel practices are applied fairly and consistently throughout the company
  • Counsel managers to ensure employees follow all policies and procedures

 

  • Develop continually update, and implement Human Resource policies and procedures as needed
  • Consult with managers to assess employee performance and training needs
  • Responsible for the management of employee documentation, ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant records are maintained; manages employee HR files and documents in accordance with regulations and policies
  • Responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining attendance records for, company trainings such as Sexual Harassment, TIPS training, Safety, Title 31, HIPAA, and all other required/mandatory employee training
  • Builds guest relations throughout every shift by talking with customers and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and inviting them back
  • Observes all activity within assigned area offering assistance to all guests
  • Observes activity and reports anything that is out of the ordinary
  • Ensures all guests are kept in play by providing friendly and helpful service at all interactions
  • Utilizes open body language, politely speaks with and assists guests as needed
  • Assists in maintaining a spotless facility by disposing of any cups, glasses or bottles left by guests
  • Maintains paperwork accuracy and efficiency within department/property standards
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner and requires and encourages others to do the same
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Payroll Processing & Administration:

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll cycles with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain payroll records, timekeeping data, and employee information in HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Review and reconcile payroll reports for discrepancies, adjustments, or corrections.
  • Administer new hires, terminations, salary changes, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prepare year-end payroll documents (W-2s, T4s, 1099s, etc., depending on region).
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payment issues.

Benefits Coordinating:

  • Manage enrollment, changes, and terminations for benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, FSA/HSA, life insurance, etc.).
  • Support annual open enrollment, including communication, system setup, and employee education.
  • Coordinate with benefits providers and brokers regarding eligibility, claims, and billing.
  • Process benefits invoices and reconcile billing statements.
  • Educate employees on benefits offerings and assist with claims or coverage questions.
  • Maintain compliance with benefits regulations (ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.).

 

 

 

 

Required Skills/Experiences:

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration, including personnel practices and employment law.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving administrative and employee problems under stressful situations
  • Ability to deal with high volume customer interactions and be consistently outgoing, upbeat, and cheerful
  • Capability to handle routine customer complaints and incidents and exhibit the appropriate discretion to identify situations that require the attention of management personnel
  • Ability to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older and have the ability to obtain and retain a KRGC Gaming License. 
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management or related field, and at least five (5) years of experience in human resources management, preferable in the gaming industry; or
  • An associate’s degree in a related field, and at least ten (10) years’ experience in human resources management, preferably in the gaming industry.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Display professionalism; excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance as outlined in the Gilley’s Team Member Handbook
  • Must be able to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed

Skills Required

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain and retain a KRGC Gaming License
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Management or related field and at least five (5) years of HR management experience
  • Associate's degree in a related field and at least ten (10) years' experience in HR management (alternative to bachelor's/5 years)
  • Experience in payroll processing (bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly) and payroll record reconciliation
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs and open enrollment (ACA, COBRA, FSA/HSA, retirement, life, health plans)
  • Knowledge of HR principles, personnel practices, and employment law
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Skilled in identifying and resolving administrative and employee problems under stressful situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance as outlined in the company handbook
