The Director of Growth Operations leads the evaluation, planning, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of strategic and operational initiatives designed to improve performance, support growth, and advance organizational priorities.
This position integrates market intelligence, healthcare utilization data, competitive insights, financial analysis, and operational assessments to identify opportunities and translate organizational strategy into actionable, measurable plans. The Director independently leads business case development, market assessments, financial modeling, and implementation planning for major strategic initiatives, including growth opportunities, capital investments, integrations, service-line initiatives, and market performance improvement efforts. Working closely with corporate, market, functional, and operational leaders, the Director provides structured leadership throughout the full initiative lifecycle, from opportunity identification and assessment through implementation, performance monitoring, and transition to a long-term business owner.
The position also develops executive-level communications and recommendations for senior leadership and Board-level discussions. This role serves as a strategic advisor and implementation partner, frequently operating in complex or unstructured environments where established guidelines may not exist.
Responsibilities- Lead annual and multi-year enterprise and market business-planning activities by integrating healthcare utilization data, market dynamics, competitive intelligence, operational performance, and financial information into actionable strategies and recommendations.
- Identify and evaluate growth opportunities, service-line initiatives, capital investments, integrations, and performance-improvement opportunities through business case development, financial modeling, market analysis, and operational assessment.
- Translate organizational priorities and strategic concepts into clear, measurable business and implementation plans that define objectives, milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, stakeholder responsibilities, risks, and expected outcomes.
- Direct multiple complex, cross-functional initiatives throughout the full lifecycle, from initial assessment and planning through implementation, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and transition to an accountable long-term business owner.
- Prepare and present executive-level business cases, recommendations, decision materials, and presentations for senior leadership and Board discussions while coaching team members, supporting organizational capability, and promoting accountability, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of related work experience in financial services, management consulting or business planning in health care.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong strategic planning, financial analysis, operational assessment, and project-management capabilities.
- Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills and a disciplined, data-driven approach.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly to operational, financial, clinical, and executive audiences.
- A mastery of a variety of communication modalities is required to include leading meetings, making formal presentations, and writing complex documents and managing complex relationships over time.
Preferred:
- MBA or Master’s degree in Health Care Administration
- Experience with SQL and PowerBI.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to coach others, build alignment, and lead cross-functional teams.
- Ability to develop project plans that account for dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and stakeholder interests.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous or unstructured environments.
- Strong understanding of business cases, budgets, profit-and-loss statements, and key performance drivers.
