The Director, GCR APAC is responsible for leading and developing the Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) platform in Asia-Pacific (APAC), with Singapore as the regional hub.
The role combines business leadership, client portfolio management, and operational delivery oversight, ensuring seamless execution of multi-country compliance services for international clients.
This position acts as a key driving force in building a scalable regional delivery model, leveraging centralized teams and coordinating local country practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the execution of the Global Compliance & Reporting strategy across the APAC region, aligning with global priorities and driving regional growth.
- Build and scale efficient, high-quality service delivery capabilities across multiple jurisdictions, including the development of a regional GCR delivery platform.
- Define and enhance operating models to support consistent, scalable, and commercially viable service delivery.
- Act as a senior relationship lead for key multinational clients, ensuring strong engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
- Drive business development initiatives, including leading proposals, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Identify and pursue growth opportunities across existing and new client relationships.
- Oversee end-to-end service delivery, ensuring high standards of quality, consistency, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and manage financial performance, KPIs, and overall service profitability.
- Establish and maintain robust governance, risk, and compliance frameworks in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, develop, and mentor high-performing teams across the region, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
- Promote cross-border collaboration and alignment with global and regional stakeholders.
- Represent the GCR APAC function at internal governance forums and external client meetings.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in global compliance/accounting/tax services and/or international client coordination or outsourcing models
- Proven experience managing large multinational clients across multiple jurisdictions
- Experience in shared service centres / CoE environments is a strong plus
- Prior exposure to APAC markets highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of IFRS/local GAAP, direct and indirect tax compliance, and statutory reporting requirements across multiple countries
- Understanding of GCR operating models, governance, and delivery structures
- Strategic thinker with hands-on execution capability
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and cross-cultural leadership
- Ability to operate in an international environment
