See what you're missing. Our employees work on the world's most advanced electronics - from detecting threats for F-35 pilots to illuminating the night for soldiers. Spanning air, land, sea, and space, we are developing the technology of tomorrow, delivered today. Drawing strength from our differences, we're innovating for the future. And you can, too. Our flexible work environment provides you a chance to change the world without giving up your personal life. We put our customers first - exemplified by our mission: "We Protect Those Who Protect Us®." Sound like a team you want to be a part of? Come build your career with BAE Systems
In Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions, we provide next-generation threat detection and countermeasure solutions to provide unparalleled electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability.
The Countermeasure and ElectroMagnetic Attack (CEMA) Solutions business area provides cutting edge products and capabilities which sense and disrupt enemy kill chains in the EOIR and RF Spectrums. Our vision, leading the future of integrated electromagnetic spectrum superiority, fuels our curiosity and propels our teams to be thought leaders at developing, integrating and transitioning technologies into operational capabilities. We believe how we work is just as important as what we work on, and we are guided by the principles of: one team who embraces inclusion and the power of all voices to achieve best in class outcomes.
The pace of threat evolution, technology development and the complexity of executing realistic live testing makes simulation a must to show our customers the full value of our solutions. Future-Shaping Synthetic Modeling (FSSM) allows us to develop digital architectural, performance, and mission-level models of our integrated, multi-domain systems performing together in complex operational scenarios. This critical capability demonstrates how BAE Systems technologies support future missions and provides insights into new opportunities to further our customers' defense strategies. The CEMA FSSM Director will work across the business area to integrate performance analysis and drive FSSM adoption, providing operational analysis that shapes and supports the direction of our product portfolio. This is an essential change in how we work to ensure we outpace the mission needs of our customers. The Future-Shaping Synthetic Modeling Director reports directly to the CEMA business area Technical Director.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading FSSM team to achieve business success via the application and demonstration of modeling, simulation, and operational analysis to tell the mission impact story across the breadth of CEMA's products and services. The Director will work with the Sector level FSSM director to set the vision, strategy, and roadmap to support our major programs and pursuits with FSSM capabilities, business area specific product performance models and dynamic simulations of those products in real-time mission scenarios. Specific job responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide leadership for CEMA, across our product lines, to meet FSSM needs by collaborating, planning, and executing in partnership with Engineering and campaign teams on FSSM capability development and cross- business area model leverage strategy. Engage and interact on FSSM across the CEMA business area and the greater Electronic Systems Sector.
  • Defining CEMA's "Analytical Agenda" by gathering and understanding the system and mission-level operational analysis requirements of the Business Area as they defend existing and pursue emerging strategic programs.
  • Identify the necessary modeling infrastructure, tools, processes, people, and facilities to ensure strategic FSSM goals are exceeded.
  • Work with the ES FSSM organization to accomplish the objectives, mission and strategy as set forth in the ES HEAT Strategy, ES business plan and ES Technology Strategy.
  • Provide leadership and active engagement in the execution of a portfolio of programs, direct and matrixed, developing FSSM capabilities and executing operations analysis, in collaboration with the CEMA product lines and other ES business areas. Ensure appropriate integration of individual FSSM efforts into the broader ES-wide FSSM strategy.
  • Provide leadership oversight and active engagement in the development of FSSM investment alternatives and the pursuit of business opportunities which generate the ability to fund architectural, performance, and mission-level model development, integration, and demonstration. Identify and engage in external opportunities to shape and win FSSM contracts.
  • Establish relationships across the broader external Operational Analysis community inclusive of government and DOD contractor organizations with the goal of establishing BAE systems as a known, trusted partner and advisor.
  • Engage to actively manage the most valuable resource we have within the organization: our human capital, to include activities related to recruiting top talent, employee development, employee sponsorship/mentorship, employee engagement and succession planning within the group.

*Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship*
