About the role
As Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our Group's strategic plan, annual budgeting, and forecasting processes. You will be responsible for driving financial analysis, modelling, and forecasting activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while crucially providing valuable insights to guide strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Budgeting:
- Collaborate with senior management in relation to the development and execution of the Group's strategic plan.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with various departments to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Development of group reforecasting cycle.
Financial Analysis and Project Work:
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and provide support for special projects and strategic initiatives, assessing their financial impact and feasibility.
- As required, review of the potential impact of M&A activity on group financial performance and position.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and revenue enhancement.
KPI Monitoring and Commercial Analysis:
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and deliver insightful commercial analysis across the Group.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance financial performance.
Financial Modelling:
- Oversight of development and maintenance of financial models to support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevance of financial models.
Financial Performance:
- Preparation of analysis to investigate variances to the budget/forecast
- Working with the Financial Control / Reporting team to provide challenge to the monthly financials against the forecast.
Stress Testing and Compliance:
- Perform stress tests on forecasted financial performance to ensure compliance with all regulatory capital, liquidity, and treasury covenant requirements.
- Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to mitigate potential risks.
Investor Reporting:
- Along with the Financial Control team, further development of investor reporting, with a focus on providing meaningful and insightful analysis of reported figures.
- Design of comprehensive reporting packs that provide transparency and insights to investors.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in the wealth management or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong financial modelling skills with expertise in Excel and financial software.
- Have a growth mindset and be curious.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Effective stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
