Financial services is GLG's largest and most strategically important client segment, spanning firms across private equity, hedge funds, asset managers, investment banks and research. This is a rare opportunity to own marketing for that segment at a moment of genuine transformation: GLG is rebuilding how it uses data to identify, reach, and convert the right clients with the right message at the right time. 

The Director, Financial Services Marketing will be a senior marketing leader who combines deep knowledge of how investment professionals work with the strategic and executional range to build a best-in-class marketing engine from the ground up. You will collaborate with FS commercial leadership and the VP, Global Marketing to set the strategy and build the programs to drive pipeline and revenue growth for GLG's most important accounts. 

Responsibilities include 

  • Build a deep understanding of the financial services segments and their research needs and use cases to develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that align with revenue and pipeline goals  
  • Create and execute multi-channel demand generation and user lifecycle management programs to help drive share  
  • Own and optimize the full marketing funnel through to SQL conversion, working closely with Commercial Operations and Campaign Management to align on lead quality, handoff, and attribution  
  • Pilot and help scale account-based marketing programs targeting high-priority accounts in the hedge fund, private equity, and asset management segments  
  • Partner with Product Marketing to lead go-to-market planning for new product and feature launches for the Financial Services segment 
  • Own segment-specific content plan to demonstrate segment expertise and authority, including case studies, reports and webinar; collaborate with Brand team on marketing of ‘tentpole’ thought leadership pieces and Expert Marketing on opportunities to leverage relevant experts 
  • Own data-driven decision making; providing analysis and recommendations based on regular reporting against marketing KPIs (e.g., Lead to SQL conversion, user activation) and leveraging marketing performane data to diagnose opportunities for improvement to feed an ongoing campaign optimization plan 
  • Manage and develop a small team of marketers (initially 1–2 direct reports), with plans to grow 

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field 
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in marketing to financial services; proven track record of developing and executing successful funnel and lifecycle marketing strategies  
  • Experience in two-sided marketplace businesses and/or the research, data, or business information industry is preferred 
  • Strong analytical and research skills; ability to translate insights into actionable marketing strategies 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to direct teams and partners toward strategic and creative outcomes 
  • Fluency in core mar-tech tools, including marketing automation, CRM, ABM, and analytics 
  • Experience managing multiple campaigns and initiatives across markets simultaneously, ensuring flawless execution 
  • Highly collaborative and results-oriented; ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment

Compensation: GLG is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation is based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. Certain roles may also be eligible for incentive compensation.

The anticipated hiring base salary range for this role is:
$121,500$160,000 USD
