The RoleWe’re hiring a Director/VP of Finance to help build and own our financial operating system as we scale. This is a senior, high impact role reporting directly to the CEO with a broad remit across strategic finance, FP&A, capital planning and accounting oversight. This role will be a strategic operator and business partner responsible for translating financial insight into executive decision making and enabling scaling. You will ensure the company has clarity, rigor and flexibility as it grows. This is a hands-on role with meaningful ownership and influence as Wizard scales.
What You’ll Do- Own company wide financial planning and forecasting and partner with CEO and leadership team on scenario planning, tradeoffs and prioritization
- Translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights for the executive team
- Lead capital planning, cash management and runway modeling
- Design and implement scalable financial processes, controls and reporting candence
- Improve forecasting accuracy and financial discipline
- Building budgeting and monthly close rhythm
- Oversee accounting operations and own relationship with external accounting partners, auditors and tax providers
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Act as a trusted thought partner to the CEO and leadership team
- Build financial fluency across Wizard
- Leadership has clear and timely financial insight to make confident decisions
- Forecasts are reliable, assumptions are understood and tradeoffs are explicit
- Financial operations scale smoothly with growth
- The company operates with financial discipline without sacrificing speed
- The finance function is seen as a strategic partner, not a back office function
- 8-15+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A or finance leadership roles
- Experience supporting high growth or scaling companies (startup or scaleup)
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with a strategic lens
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building structure where none exists
- Experience overseeing accounting functions
- Prior exposure to fundraising, board reporting and capital strategy
The expected base salary range for this role is $200,000 - $250,000 and will vary based on skills, experience, role level, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined by considering these factors alongside overall role scope and responsibilities.
