Bolt is looking for a talented Director of Finance to join Bolt’s high-impact Finance organization.  The Finance team plays an integral role in managing the long-term growth plans, ensuring the allocation of resources to strategic initiatives, and providing guidance and support to the rest of the organization to accelerate growth and deliver superior financial outcomes. This person will lead a team of talented individuals and should be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to grow and support the Corporate, Go-To-Market and Strategic finance functions. This role oversees FP&A, corporate finance, long term and short-term forecasting and planning, board management, Go-To-Market finance and sales deal support, along with strategic insights, corporate development, and finance analytics. 

This person will be a key leader on the team and will be tasked with providing insights to the CFO/Head of Finance and other team members on key economic decisions and various growth channels and opportunities. This person will help guide the company in determining how to best deploy capital, scale systems, hire great people, and prepare the company to deliver on Bolt’s long-term business strategy. 

The right candidate has strong analytical skills to be able to apply logic in solving often ambiguous problems, and equally strong communication skills to influence stakeholders through key decisions. 

This person reports to the Head of Finance.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitate the integrated business planning process, refining annual operating plans and rolling re-forecasts aligned with company goals and growth plans.
  • Lead long-range financial planning processes with business unit leadership, contributing to the creation of vision, strategies, and priorities for sustained growth.
  • Drive financial strategy and analysis, offering strategic financial leadership and support for various initiatives such as partnerships, ROI-based investments, acquisitions, and capital projects.
  • Develop robust management reporting including monthly / quarterly / yearly performance to plan with variance analysis and insights to Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to KPI reporting and data analysis efforts, offering insights to business partners and supporting overall business management.
  • Collaborate with Sales Leadership as a trusted advisor on GTM strategy, sales compensation, deal desk support, partnerships, and international expansion.
  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly board reports for review by the Board of Directors, Bolt’s Investors, and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Drive strategic cross-functional business partnerships, ensuring Bolt’s financial planning and operational rigor are efficiently deployed across the organization.
  • Lead a high-caliber Finance team that is central to Bolt’s efficiency and scalability by developing and adding new talent to the team globally.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc analysis to support strategic goals, and operational scaling.

What would set you up for success

  • Over 8 years of experience in some combination of investment banking, strategic consulting, corporate finance, and related roles, emphasizing e-commerce SaaS, payments, and consumer fintech.
  • Proficient in financial statements and well-versed in corporate finance concepts
  • Demonstrated strong partnership and communication skills, fostering a collaborative, team-first approach, particularly in high-growth early to late-stage private companies
  • Extensive experience in senior finance leadership roles, collaborating with officers and executives, including direct interaction with boards and board committees. 
  • Possesses deep subject matter expertise in corporate finance and FP&A, having led the corporate FP&A function for organizations of comparable size, growth profile, and complexity.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a history of embracing novel opportunities/challenges and developing unique and compelling solutions.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple demanding projects simultaneously, demonstrating the ability to prioritize and execute autonomously.

What would set you apart

  • 2+ years in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Corporate Development or other strategy-oriented work 
  • 6+ years of experience in Strategic or Corporate Finance
  • High-growth, product-led startup experience

Estimated cash compensation for this role is $180-230k plus equity depending on experience
