Job Description:
1. Oversee the daily accounting function of the revenue cycles:
- Slots
- Table Games
- Food and beverage
- Other revenue
2. Evaluate existing daily audit and accounting/auditing procedures and is proactive in improving both efficiency and quality of accounting/audit function.
3. Facilitate the flow of information throughout the property, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled meetings with the staff.
4. Oversee preparation of performance reports for management including revenue reports for all gaming areas.
5. Establish a system of reviewing operational problems.
6. Oversee the accounting function of the following support operations;
- Cage operations including main vault.
- Slot drop and count teams.
- table games drop and count teams.
7. At month end review all gaming and non-gaming operations related balance sheet and income statements general ledger account reconciliations as follows:
- Cash on hand.
- Slot club expense and related liability.
- Accrued state revenue sharing and regulatory fees.
- Progressive jackpot liabilities.
- Reconciliation of gaming revenue per statistical reports to gaming revenue per general ledger.
- Food and beverage inventories.
- Other operational asset and liability accounts.
8. Maintain effective internal controls and compliance with the NIGC MICS, through written policies and procedures for the above revenue cycles and supporting functions.
9. Oversee the casino compliance with Title 31.
10. Held accountable, to a very high degree, for the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of department records and reports.
11. Professional appearance (well-groomed).
12. Performs other duties and projects as required by management.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or related area from a four-year college or university, or four to six years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of sound and effective internal control procedures with the ability to devise effective controls through departmental structure and processing of assets and documents.
- Ability to exercise good judgement at all times, including under stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Experience with financial reporting, cost benefit analysis and financial statement interpretation.
- Ability to resolve conflict, team building and motivate team members.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries, complaints or requests from tribal officials, regulatory agencies, customers, management, team members, and/or the public.
- Documents that establish both Identity and Employment Eligibility.
- Kickapoo Tribal gaming License.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or related field OR four to six years related experience or equivalent
- Knowledge of and ability to maintain effective internal controls and compliance with NIGC MICS
- Knowledge of Title 31 compliance for casinos
- Experience with financial reporting, cost-benefit analysis, and financial statement interpretation
- Experience overseeing revenue cycles (slots, table games, food and beverage) and related reconciliations
- Experience overseeing cage operations, slot and table drop and count teams, and vault controls
- Ability to exercise good judgment under pressure and maintain confidentiality and accuracy of records
- Ability to resolve conflict, build teams, motivate staff, and facilitate meetings
- Ability to respond to inquiries from tribal officials, regulatory agencies, customers, management, and the public
