We are seeking a forward-thinking Director of Finance who combines financial expertise with a passion for systems, automation, and AI-driven innovation. With the support of a part-time accountant for day-to-day bookkeeping, this role focuses on optimizing workflows, implementing scalable tools, and delivering strategic insights that fuel growth and efficiency. A major emphasis will be on driving quote-to-cash automation and ARR automation to improve accuracy, speed, and real-time visibility into financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Finance & Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to align financial insights with strategic goals and growth initiatives.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning using advanced modeling and AI-enabled tools.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations for decision-making.
- Champion finance technology adoption across the organization.
- Systems & Process Innovation
- Lead the design and implementation of quote-to-cash automation to streamline billing, collections, and revenue recognition.
- Drive ARR automation to ensure accurate, real-time recurring revenue tracking and reporting.
- Evaluate and modernize financial processes, prioritizing automation, scalability, and compliance.
- Implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems and integrate them with business platforms for unified reporting.
- Leverage AI tools (predictive analytics, automated reconciliations, expense bots) to minimize manual work and increase accuracy.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Build automated dashboards that provide leadership with real-time insights into revenue, ARR, and financial performance.
- Conduct variance, trend, and cohort analyses to surface risks and opportunities.
- Use predictive analytics and modeling to anticipate business outcomes.
- Accounting Oversight (via part-time accountant)
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the integrity of bookkeeping, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
- Maintain high standards for financial controls and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/CMA a plus, but not required).
- 5–7 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, ideally in growth-oriented or SaaS organizations.
- Hands-on experience implementing quote-to-cash or ARR automation strongly preferred.
- Proven track record driving systems improvements and financial technology adoption.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools (predictive analytics, automated reconciliation, expense management platforms).
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) preferred.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Other Requirements
- Position is located in our office in Austin, Texas, or may be a remote or hybrid workplace enabling a mix of office and home-based work.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required.
- May require some flexible scheduling to accommodate international team collaboration.
