The Director, Delegated Program Finance Business Partner provides Finance leadership, governance, and strategic oversight for MSIG USA's delegated authority and program business portfolio. This role leads the Senior Accountant, Delegated Program Finance Business Partners and is accountable for the financial operating model supporting delegated programs, including financial reporting, accounting, controls, reconciliations, settlements, forecasting, audit support, and exception management. The Director serves as the primary Finance partner to Delegated Underwriting and collaborates closely with Operations, Claims, Actuarial, Technology, and Data teams to drive financial performance, operational effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.

The position is responsible for establishing and continuously enhancing the delegated program Finance operating model through process standardization, automation, governance, and cross-functional alignment. This includes oversight of bordereaux-related financial processes, control frameworks, data quality, and automated reporting solutions, while ensuring effective issue resolution, risk management, and scalable support for the company's delegated business growth.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinance Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, develop, and mentor Senior Accountant, Delegated Program Finance Business Partners, establishing clear program assignments, priorities, performance expectations, review requirements, and escalation thresholds across the portfolio.

  • Provide leadership and oversight for program accounting, financial reporting, controls, bordereaux operational coordination, issue resolution, and stakeholder engagement activities.

  • Establish standardized operating procedures, review protocols, governance standards, and escalation frameworks to support efficient and consistent execution.

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for material financial, control, operational, and bordereaux -related issues.

Financial Reporting, Accounting & Analysis
  • Own financial reporting, accounting oversight, reconciliations, settlements, and close-related activities for the delegated program portfolio.

  • Lead the Delegated Program forecasting process, including governance, methodologies, assumptions, variance analysis, and performance monitoring.

  • Oversee analysis of financial results, settlement positions, reinsurance cessions, forecast trends, and emerging risks, ensuring timely communication with Finance and business leadership.

  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of delegated program financial reporting and related regulatory, management, and audit deliverables.

Bordereaux Operations & Program Oversight
  • Oversee bordereaux governance, tracking, exception management, and operational coordination across delegated programs.

  • Partner with Delegated Underwriting, MGAs, TPAs, Claims Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve material data, reporting, reconciliation, and processing issues.

  • Monitor key operational risks, aging items, and remediation activities, and drive timely resolution of material exceptions.

Controls, Governance & Compliance
  • Establish and maintain an effective control and governance framework supporting delegated program financial processes and reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, accounting, and company requirements.

  • Oversee audit readiness, control execution, issue remediation, and financial governance for new and existing delegated programs.

  • Provide Finance oversight of significant accounting interpretations, reporting assumptions, and financial impacts associated with delegated business activities.

Finance Transformation, Systems & Data
  • Own the delegated program Finance transformation and automation roadmap, including process optimization, Finance requirements, validation criteria, control requirements, exception thresholds, data governance, and operational scalability.

  • Oversee Finance testing, implementation readiness, adoption, and post-implementation control stabilization; monitor automated-process performance, manual workarounds, recurring exceptions, and control effectiveness.

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the senior Finance partner to Delegated Underwriting and provide strategic financial guidance on program performance, growth, profitability, risks, and operational priorities.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support effective program administration, financial oversight, and business decision-making.

  • Communicate material financial, operational, governance, and control matters to Finance, Delegated Underwriting, and business leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including significant experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in delegated authority, program business, premium accounting, claims accounting, bordereaux oversight, or related insurance finance functions.

  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing accounting or finance professionals and overseeing financial and operational responsibilities.

  • Strong experience in financial reporting, accounting close processes, reconciliations, account analysis, cash and settlement processes, internal controls, audit support, and exception management.

  • Experience leading finance transformation initiatives, process automation, systems implementations, data governance, and cross-functional process improvements, including establishing operating procedures, review standards, decision rights, control ownership, and escalation protocols.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with general ledger, insurance administration, reporting, reconciliation, and data analytics platforms.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and translate complex financial, operational, and data-related issues into clear risks, decisions, actions, and business outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification.

  • Experience leading delegated authority or program business finance functions within a Property & Casualty insurance organization.

  • Experience implementing or governing automated financial processes, controls, and reporting solutions.

  • Experience supporting large-scale finance transformation, operating model redesign, or enterprise system implementations.

  • Experience working with delegated authority administration, MGA relationships, and related insurance operating models.

  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, reporting automation, and advanced analytics tools.

Salary: The base pay range is $150,000- $175,000.00 . Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
