The role
Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. Lead multiple product engineering teams while staying hands-on with code and architecture. The role starts near an even split between technical contribution and leadership and moves toward roughly 80% leadership over time.
What you'll do
- Manage and scale several product squads and their engineering leaders.
- Write and review code and pair with engineers on critical work.
- Own architecture decisions that support platform reliability and growth.
- Align team priorities with product and customer outcomes.
- Deliver product and AI capabilities against seasonal customer deadlines.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- At least 3 years of relevant hands-on engineering management experience; the detailed role asks for 5+ years in engineering and 2 to 3+ years managing multiple teams.
- Experience leading at least two teams, including six or more engineers, and scaling management responsibilities.
- Strong backend architecture judgment and the ability to read, review, and write code.
- TypeScript or Python proficiency, with AWS and MongoDB experience.
- Ability to connect engineering decisions to business outcomes and work across functions.
- Startup experience and interest in education.

- Base salary: USD 210,000 to 240,000 per year.

Location and work model
- Remote within the United States, including Boston and New York. Travel includes two company retreats and an additional two to four business trips each year.
