The Purpose:

Slickdeals seeks a dynamic and seasoned Director/Staff-level Engineering Manager to spearhead our Merchants and Advertising team. This role is designed for a leader with a proven track record in delivering innovative technology solutions tailored to enhance merchant success on our platform. The ideal candidate will possess a robust technical foundation, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a profound understanding of digital advertising ecosystems to lead the delivery of cutting-edge advertising solutions, including standard and native ads, and the construction of intuitive merchant tools such as campaign management, reporting, and catalog management systems.

What You'll Do:

  • Software Application Development: Lead the team in delivering innovative, scalable cloud-based solutions tailored to enhance merchant success on our platform. Drive the development of advertising solutions, including standard and native ads, and merchant-centric tools for campaign management, reporting, and insights.
  • AdTech and MarTech Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in advertising and marketing technology. Implement cutting-edge solutions that keep the platform at the forefront of the industry, enhancing our competitive edge.
  • Marketplace Ecosystem Development: Contribute to the growth and vitality of the marketplace ecosystem, ensuring a seamless and productive experience for merchants and advertisers. Deliver solutions that increase merchant engagement and satisfaction.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Optimization: Leverage cloud technologies to build a robust, efficient, and scalable infrastructure that supports the delivery of our solutions. Ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness of cloud resources.
  • Insights Collaboration with Data and Analytics: Work closely with the data and analytics team to derive actionable insights that provide unique value to our merchant partners. Ensure the integration of data-driven strategies into our technology solutions to optimize merchant outcomes and platform efficiency.
  • Engineering Collaboration: Strategize with other engineering teams to influence deal discovery and balance merchant value with shopper satisfaction. Collaborate on algorithms and features that allow us to boost partner deals that are still relevant and valuable to shoppers, thereby driving merchant success and shopper engagement.
  • Stakeholder Prioritization: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align technology solutions with business needs and merchant expectations. Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and cohesive project delivery.

What We're Looking For:

  • At least 7 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer building services  in open-source web environments.
  • Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams of 8 or more members in developing service-based solutions.
  • Extensive expertise in developing advertiser-facing applications and services, including experience with advertising technologies, ad formats (standard and native ads), and tools for campaign management, reporting, and analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, especially those related to database management and scalability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex application integration issues.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey technical concepts to team members and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).

 

LOCATION: Las Vegas, NV

Hybrid schedule visiting our Las Vegas office three days a week (Tues-Thurs).
