Summary:
Shoals Technologies Group, a leading provider of electrical balance of system (EBOS) solutions for the global energy transition, is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Total Rewards & Employee Services to lead compensation, benefits, payroll governance, HR operations, HRIS, and employee service delivery. This leader will build and enhance programs that attract, retain, and reward top talent while driving operational excellence, compliance, and a strong employee experience across Shoals’ manufacturing, engineering, and corporate teams.
Partnering with executive leadership, the Director will align total rewards with business goals, growth plans, and workforce needs while using data, disciplined execution, and process improvement to strengthen HR service delivery.
Responsibilities:
Total Rewards Strategy
- Develop and execute Shoals' comprehensive total rewards strategy, including compensation, benefits, wellness, recognition, and employee value proposition initiatives.
- Lead annual compensation planning processes including merit increases, incentive plans, promotions, and market adjustments.
- Manage market pricing, salary structure design, compensation benchmarking, and pay equity analyses.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders to develop competitive compensation offers and hiring strategies.
- Provide compensation guidance for executive, leadership, and critical talent positions.
- Ensure compensation programs support organizational goals while maintaining internal equity and external competitiveness.
Benefits & Wellness
- Oversee the administration and strategic direction of all employee benefit programs.
- Partner with brokers and vendors to evaluate plan performance, cost containment opportunities, and employee engagement.
- Drive employee wellness, financial wellbeing, and benefits education initiatives.
- Manage annual open enrollment planning and execution.
HR Operations & Employee Services
- Lead HR operational excellence initiatives, standardizing processes and improving service delivery.
- Oversee employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, job changes, organizational changes, and offboarding.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs.
- Establish and monitor service-level standards for HR support and employee inquiries.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on employee experience and operational efficiency.
HRIS, Analytics & Reporting
- Provide strategic oversight of HR technology platforms and data management practices.
- Lead HRIS optimization, reporting automation, and system enhancement initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and analytics that support workforce planning, turnover analysis, compensation decisions, and organizational effectiveness.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Payroll Governance & Compliance
- Partner with Payroll and Finance to ensure accurate and compliant payroll administration.
- Develop controls, audits, and governance processes related to compensation and employee data.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including FLSA, wage and hour laws, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, and other employment regulations.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Build and develop a high-performing Total Rewards and Employee Services team.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on compensation, workforce trends, and employee experience strategies.
- Support M&A, organizational design, and business transformation initiatives as needed.
- Lead vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to maximize value and service quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with significant leadership responsibility in compensation, benefits, and HR operations.
- 5+ years leading Total Rewards programs in a publicly traded, manufacturing, industrial, technology, or high-growth environment.
- Deep expertise in compensation design, market pricing, salary administration, and benefits strategy.
- Strong understanding of HR operations, HRIS systems, payroll processes, and employment compliance.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing executive stakeholders.
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and data interpretation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.
- CEBS, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or related certifications.
- Experience supporting manufacturing and multi-site operations.
- Experience with Workday, UKG, ADP, SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise HR systems.
- Experience in a public company environment.

- Hands-on experience administering annual cycles via an enterprise HRIS/compensation planning tool; strong data integrity and process mindset.
- Proven knowledge of U.S. employment and rewards-related laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, EPA, Title VII, ADEA, ADA) and experience applying them in practice.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change enablement skills; ability to translate data into decisions.
- Master's degree and/or professional certifications (e.g., CCP, GRP, CBP, CEBS).
- Global rewards experience (multi-country structures, mobility, and compliance).
- Experience with equity programs and sales compensation design.
