Citrin Cooperman's Applied AI Practice puts AI to work inside clients' businesses: their people, their processes and their systems. The Practice deploys on three platforms: Claude and the Anthropic API, OpenAI, and Salesforce Agentforce. Clients include mid-market companies from the firm's accounting and advisory base, regulated businesses in financial services and healthcare, and Salesforce clients our team has served for years.
As a Deployment Strategist, you own the business side of an engagement from first conversation to production. You find the use cases worth building, scope them into a statement of work and design the workflows. Forward Deployed Engineers build what you design, and you lead the client through rollout and adoption. You measure the result and report it to the client's executives. When an engagement lands, you find the next one.
You are technical enough to prototype a workflow, write and test prompts, and query the client's data yourself. Production code belongs to the Forward Deployed Engineers. Client conversations belong to you.
This is one of the first hires in a new Practice. You will help write the playbooks the rest of the team uses.
Discovery and Scoping
- Run discovery and use case workshops with client stakeholders, from the CFO to the people doing the work, to find problems AI can solve at a cost the client will pay for
- Assess where a client sits on our AI maturity scale and recommend the right starting engagement
- Write and scope statements of work, estimates and change orders with clear milestones, success criteria and a value hypothesis
- Support pre-sales: join qualification calls, build and run demos, and turn workshop findings into proposals
Design and Delivery
- Map client workflows and data, define the MVP, and write the requirements Forward Deployed Engineers build against
- Build quick prototypes (prompts, skills, simple agents, data queries) to prove a use case before engineering time is committed
- Make sequencing and scope trade-offs with the delivery team to keep work on schedule
- Work through client security, compliance and IT reviews, which carry the most weight in financial services and healthcare
Rollout and Adoption
- Lead enterprise AI rollouts (Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot), covering governance, connector setup, admin policies and rollout plans
- Train end users and build internal champions through train-the-trainer sessions
- Set baselines and KPIs before go-live, measure after, and present ROI to executive sponsors
Practice Building
- Turn what works into reusable assets: use case libraries, workshop formats, evaluation templates and rollout playbooks
- Feed field findings back to the Practice and to our platform partners
- Four to seven years in client-facing technical roles: consulting, solutions engineering, technical product management, implementation or analytics
- Hands-on experience building with large language models: prompt design, retrieval, agents or workflow automation, and how to evaluate whether they work
- Software-adjacent technical skills: comfortable with Python or SQL, APIs and data, able to read code and build a working prototype
- Experience scoping and delivering engagements against a budget, with direct accountability to client stakeholders
- Able to explain technical trade-offs to executives and business problems to engineers
- Comfortable with ambiguity: you can meet a client who wants to talk about AI and leave with a scoped first project
- Willing to travel about 25% of the time
- Experience rolling out Claude Enterprise, ChatGPT Enterprise or Copilot across an organization preferred
- Experience in financial services, healthcare or another regulated industry preferred
- Consulting firm background with billable utilization targets preferred
- Familiarity with MCP connectors, Claude skills or agent frameworks preferred
- Anthropic, OpenAI or Salesforce AI certifications preferred
