Job Description: Director of Desktop System Management

We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and service-oriented Director of Desktop System Management to lead our global endpoint architecture, IT support, and user technology operations. In this role, you will oversee the strategic direction, infrastructure, and automation for enterprise endpoint systems, ensuring our global employee workforce remains productive, secure, and seamlessly supported across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments.
As a key leader within Central Technology, you will manage a dedicated organization of desktop systems engineers and IT service delivery specialists. You will bridge endpoint management and enterprise security, driving key initiatives around endpoint compliance, identity management, operational support tools, and frictionless enterprise onboarding.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Desktop Operations & User Onboarding- New Hire Onboarding Execution & Automation: Lead and optimize the technical end-to-end New Hire Onboarding process to ensure new team members receive hardware, security software, access, and zero-touch deployment profiles seamlessly on day one.
- Global IT Support & GSD Verification: Direct global Global Service Desk (GSD) operations and establish robust GSD IT Support Verification standards to ensure high quality of service, rapid issue resolution, and rigorous identity verification for technical support calls.
- Self-Service Support Tools: Oversee the development, deployment, and management of user-facing automation tools, including the enterprise Password Reset Tool, reducing helpdesk ticket volume and improving employee self-service capabilities.
- Collaboration with Security Teams: Work in close Collaboration with The Security organization (InfoSec, Threat Management, and Security Operations) to enforce endpoint protection baseline standards, hardware encryption, zero-trust policies, and continuous vulnerability management.
- MDM & Endpoint Management Strategy: Define and execute the multi-year vision for enterprise Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms (Jamf, Microsoft Intune) and automated provisioning pipelines.
- Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, mentor, and foster high-performing teams of desktop engineering and IT service delivery professionals.
- Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with HR, Workplace Resources, Legal, and Business Unit leads to continually refine end-user workplace technologies and digital experience frameworks.
- Operational Excellence & Metrics: Drive SLA/SLO accountability across end-user tickets, hardware asset management, hardware replacement cycles, and endpoint health compliance.
- Proven IT Leadership: 6+ years of experience managing desktop systems engineering or IT service management teams at scale, with a strong background in enterprise end-user computing.
- Process Modernization: Track record of modernizing IT workflows, zero-touch deployment models, and self-service identity/security tooling.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated success partnering closely with Security, HR, and Operations teams.
- Endpoint Management: Deep expertise in macOS and Windows enterprise administration using Jamf Pro, Microsoft Intune/SCCM, and modern MDM/UEM tools.
- Identity & Security Integration: Strong experience with hardware authentication tokens (Yubikey), identity providers (Okta), password self-service platforms, and zero-trust security frameworks.
- Service Desk Governance: Hands-on experience establishing verification standards for IT Support/GSD, incident response workflows, and ticketing platforms (Jira Service Management, ServiceNow).
- First 30 Days: Map current New Hire Onboarding pipelines, audit GSD IT support verification procedures, and analyze helpdesk ticket trends related to password reset tools and hardware authentication.
- First 60 Days: Partner closely in Collaboration with The Security team to evaluate Yubikey Enrollment completion rates and prioritize endpoint compliance and self-service enhancements.
- First 90 Days: Deliver a 12-to-18-month strategic roadmap for Desktop System Management, setting clear milestones for zero-touch onboarding automation, endpoint security compliance, and frictionless employee tech experience.

The compensation for this position ranges from $160,965.00 - $349,885.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
