Morten Group, LLC is the firm recruiting candidates for Chicago Abortion Fund's Director of Data and Technology.
The Director of Data and Technology is responsible for leading and scaling Chicago Abortion Fund's technology, data, and security infrastructure in support of our mission to expand abortion access. This role works strategically with CAF's leadership team to maintain an overarching vision for IT strategy, strengthen core infrastructure, and improve day-to-day systems. It's both an individual contributor and a manager role, building and maintaining CAF's technology stack, aligning a product roadmap with the organization's needs, and managing internal staff and outside consultants. The Director of Data and Technology reports to the Sr. Director of Operations and directly supervises the Database Manager.
Key responsibilities include owning IT strategy and the product roadmap; establishing IT policies, standards, and best practices (security, access controls, data governance, disaster recovery); managing cloud-based tools and environments; overseeing CAF's databases, case management software, CRM, and analytics tools; leading data security and risk mitigation in a highly sensitive environment; designing a modern telecommunications/VoIP strategy; developing the IT budget; and supervising the Database Manager.
Qualifications include 7+ years in software development, IT, and/or product management roles; experience building or scaling IT functions in small/mid-sized organizations; strong knowledge of IT operations, cloud/SaaS environments (Google Workspace), databases, analytics, and CRM platforms; experience with IT security, data privacy, and risk management frameworks; experience with Telecom/VoIP implementation; and a deep commitment to reproductive justice and mission-driven work.
Compensation and benefits: $95,000–$117,000 for a four-day, 32-hour work week, plus 401(k) with up to 5% employer match, unlimited PTO (including a mandatory four weeks off), paid parental leave, 100% employer-paid health insurance (medical, dental, vision) with 50% dependent coverage, and observance of federal holidays.
