Summary Description:
Director of Data & Analytics leads reporting, analytics, pricing support, rebate visibility, and business intelligence. This hands-on leader turns data into trusted insight, sets reporting standards, supports pricing and rebate analysis, and builds reports and dashboards when needed. Advises executive leadership on opportunities to leverage data for operational efficiency, profitability, and customer experience improvements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the Data, Analytics & Pricing function and set priorities for reporting, analytics, pricing, and data requests.
- Partner with the VP of IT & Data Strategy on reporting and analytics roadmap.
- Define standard KPIs, data definitions, and reporting logic to improve trust and consistency.
- Own key business reports and dashboards from requirements through delivery.
- Translate business questions into clear SQL-based reporting outputs.
- Replace manual spreadsheets and ad hoc reporting with accurate, repeatable processes.
- Support pricing, gross margin, rebate, product, customer, vendor, and profitability analysis.
- Improve pricing and rebate visibility with the Data Analysts.
- Identify data quality issues and coordinate cleanup or process improvements.
- Document report definitions, data sources, logic, ownership, and recurring processes.
- Partner with Systems, Automation & Platforms to improve data flows and reporting datasets.
- Identify trends, exceptions, risks, and opportunities to support leadership decisions and operational improvements.
- Prioritize work by business impact and review report logic before distribution.
- Build repeatable intake, prioritization, delivery, and follow-up processes for data requests.
- Establish data governance standards, reporting controls, and data stewardship practices to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization.
- Manage, coach, and develop team members assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 7+ years of data analysis and reporting
- Experience with BI tools, SSRS, Excel, Smartsheet, automation, data warehousing, ETL…
- Experience with ERP data, pricing, rebates, gross margin, or customer profitability analysis.
- Experience in distribution, wholesale, automotive aftermarket, retail, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy businesses a plus.
Skills Required
