What we're looking for:

We are seeking a visionary Director of Data Analytics who will lead the establishment of a centralized data function, steering the company’s data infrastructure, governance and business insight across the company. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in data acquisition, infrastructure, and analysis, with a proven track record of implementing effective data strategies that align with business goals. InStride is a company dedicated to the academic and career success of our Learners, and our ideal candidate will also understand how our programs are capable of driving individual, organizational and social impact.

  • Strategic Data Management: Develop and implement data strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Process Improvement: Apply industry best practices to audit and enhance data process efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving: Utilize strong analytical abilities to address complex data challenges.
  • Data Integrity: Establish robust governance frameworks that ensure data accuracy and accessibility.

Who you are:

  • You have a strong technical background and proven leadership managing a team of data analysts. Your collaborative and professional experience includes proven success partnering with teams across an organization driving better decisions by extracting meaningful insights from complex datasets.
  • Highly proficient with data manipulation, you are able to build infrastructure and cloud-based data platforms. You have strong technical skills in programming languages like SQL, Python, R, or SAS and hands on experience deploying business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Power BI which aid in transforming raw data into actionable insights.
  • Your professional journey includes 8-10 years in data analytics or business intelligence with proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • With at least 2-3 years in a people management and leadership role, you have a talent for inspiring your team and making complex data understandable for stakeholders across the board. Your communication skills are top-notch, helping you to effectively bridge the gap between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • You’re adept at navigating complex data environments and have a solid track record of using strategic data insights to propel organizational growth. 
  • Strategically minded, you are excellent at taking initiative, identifying trends, solving problems, and turning challenges into opportunities. You manage multiple projects with precision, keeping them on track and within budget.
  • You’re known for your organizational skills and your ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. You’re also committed to lifelong learning, constantly updating your skills and embracing the latest advancements in your field.

How you will create impact:

  • Conduct thorough audits of current data practices, identifying and addressing inefficiencies and roadblocks.
  • Craft and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with organizational goals and incorporates a deep understanding of InStride’s business model.
  • Lead the centralization of data functions to optimize data management and governance in a collaborative way that leverages relationships across the organization.
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of data through rigorous cleaning and maintenance processes. Enhance organizational data literacy and empower teams to manage data properly.
  • Drive the adoption of strategic data practices that enhance decision-making and business performance.
  • Foster a collaborative environment where data insights lead to actionable solutions across business units.
  • Recommend and oversee the adoption of new technologies that enhance data functionality and business operations.
  • Develop and maintain best practices in data management, promoting efficiency and accessibility.

Target base compensation amount for this role outlined below. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts shown below.

$160,000$210,000 USD
