ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director of Customer Insights, the Director of Customer Insights will play a critical role in generating and translating customer and market insights into actionable strategies and tactics as Zydus Therapeutics prepares for and executes its transition to a commercial-stage organization. This individual will lead key market research initiatives, conduct market analytics, and contribute to competitive intelligence efforts to inform brand strategy and optimize go-to-market execution for Saroglitazar in PBC.

The Director will work cross-functionally to ensure insights are embedded in decision-making and will help build a strong foundation of customer understanding across HCPs, patients, and payers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Market Research & Deep Customer Understanding
  • Design and execute focused primary market research (qualitative and quantitative) to generate actionable insights into HCP, patient, and payer behaviors, needs, motivations and perceptions within the PBC landscape.
  • Contribute to mapping the patient journey, identifying key intervention points and opportunities to enhance patient outcomes and brand positioning.
  • Support the development of customer segmentation frameworks and customer personas to enable targeted and effective customer engagement strategies and tactics.
  • Partner with Marketing and Market Access to refine brand development, messaging, and promotional materials based on customer insights.
  • Leverage innovative methodologies and technologies to deepen customer understanding and inform strategic decisions.
  • Market Analytics & Launch Readiness
  • Support the development and delivery of insights to enable launch readiness and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on launch planning to ensure that key activities are aligned and ZTI teams are fully prepared for Saroglitazar’s market entry.
  • Leverage legacy research and insights, identifying emerging needs and knowledge gaps to support launch readiness and execution.
  • Integrate primary market research, syndicated research, and desk research to provide a comprehensive understanding of the PBC marketplace, including patients, HCPs and practices, payers, health care organizations, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), hospitals, and current and future anticipated competition.
  • Partner with data analytics team to integrate market research findings, interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights that support Saroglitazar launch strategy.
  • Contribute to evaluating omnichannel engagement and effectiveness and customer targeting approaches.
  • Synthesize data across multiple sources into clear, concise, and impactful insights for cross-functional stakeholders.

Competitive Intelligence & Strategy

  • Support competitive intelligence activities, including monitoring market developments, competitor strategies, and emerging trends.
  • Analyze competitive dynamics and provide insights to inform tactical and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Medical, Market Access, and Sales) to ensure insights are integrated into commercial strategy, planning and tactics.
  • Translate complex market dynamics into executive-level insights to support high-stakes decision-making.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration & Execution 
  • Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure insights inform key business decisions across the organization.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal teams in a clear, succinct and compelling manner.
  • Ensure alignment of insights across functions to drive cohesive and effective commercial strategies.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Manage market research agencies to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, actionable work within budget Support the development and delivery of insights to enable launch readiness and ongoing performance tracking.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally on launch planning to ensure that key activities are aligned and ZTI teams are fully prepared for Saroglitazar’s market entry.
  • Support the development of processes, tools, and best practices for customer insights generation.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Support the use of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and data governance policies to ensure adherence to compliance and legal standards.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

7-10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, with a focus on market research, customer insights, and/or analytics.

Proven expertise in leading market research and analytics for specialty or rare disease brands.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable commercial insights.

Familiarity with key data sources (e.g., HCP, patient-level, claims, syndicated data).

Excellent business knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience working with external vendors and managing research projects end-to-end.
