POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director, Corporate Partnership Engagement position is responsible for sourcing, structuring, and executing offtake opportunities with corporate and industrial (C&I) energy buyers. As part of this role, you will work in cross-functional teams to formulate comprehensive energy solutions that leverage the expansive range of products and services the Hanwha Group can provide, including solar, battery energy storage, energy trading, and gas generation.  

The successful candidate will bring an established network of corporate energy procurement relationships and a demonstrated track record of originating and closing transactions with C&I customers. The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies


RESPONSIBILITIES

 Origination and Relationship Management 

  • Identify, originate, and cultivate relationships with C&I energy buyers. 
  • Leverage existing relationships with energy managers, procurement leads, sustainability teams, and senior management to introduce Hanwha Energy’s offerings. 
  • Engage power-intensive corporate customers through bilateral approaches to understand their energy, environmental, and infrastructure needs both near and long-term. 

Solution Design and Structuring 

  • Develop and structure commercial frameworks that go beyond traditional PPA structures and address complex needs of customers including speed to power, resource diversity, decarbonization, and cost optimization.  
  • Lead cross-functional teams through contract negotiations and execution, developing solutions to commercially and technically complex challenges. 
  • Prepare investment memoranda and supporting material for senior management. 

Market & Policy Development  

  • Work in tandem with the Government Relations and Market Development teams to monitor and influence changes in interconnection, tariffs, market products and other relevant matters. 
  • Engage in industry groups and monitor regulatory developments to identify new opportunities, risks, and market solutions. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in power marketing, origination, or procuring energy on behalf of corporate energy buyers.  
  • Deep and actionable network of relationships with C&I buyers and in at least one target region. 
  • Direct transaction experience in ERCOT, PJM, or CAISO, across a variety of deal structures. 
  • Expert-level knowledge of offtake structuring instruments including VPPAs, financial hedges, tolling agreements, and emerging structures. 
  • Advanced understanding of U.S. utility-scale solar development, power markets, project finance, and customer segments. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, sustainability, finance, or related field. 
  • Ability to quickly step into new tasks and adapt to new circumstances in a dynamic environment. 
  • Experience successfully operating in a geographically dispersed organization is a plus. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, communication, and relationship building skills. 
  • Willing to travel up to 40% of the time in North America. 

 

COMPENSATION: $180,000 - $210,000 salary
