ROLE SUMMARY:
We’re looking for a thoughtful, thorough, and engaged Corporate Communications Director who will serve as the communications lead for the Anheuser-Busch corporate brand. This person will play an active role in creating, building, and managing strategic communication initiatives that promote and protect Anheuser-Busch’s strong leadership position as the number one American manufacturer in the U.S. brewing industry. As part of this, the Director will lead corporate communications activities around commercial matters, spearhead proactive/reactive communications, and develop content strategies for owned and earned corporate channels. The Director will also liaise regularly with a broad cross-functional group of internal and external stakeholders, building proactive plans to manage company and industry-related issues for the Communications team. This individual should balance confidence with humility and seek to be a convener, both internally and externally. Our potential is only limited by how big we can dream!
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

In collaboration with leadership of the Communications Team, play a lead role in driving and contributing to the overall communications strategy for Anheuser-Busch

Manage and support the company’s corporate narrative and story-telling campaigns, working in concert with internal stakeholders
-
Provide strategic counsel on corporate campaign development, earned media activations, proactive and reactive media stories, owned content, outreach to alternative news sources, and more

Collaborate on issues management, including reporting, as needed

Act as primary contact for media and manage day-to-day media requests.

Lead communications for our wholesaler network and liaise with wholesaler team when necessary

Manage and oversee daily communications with the consumer relations group

Day-to-day lead of PR agencies; collaborate with them as part of planning process and execution of campaigns

Develop and execute content strategies to expertly respond to reputation challenges and issues, as they arise

Merchandise and report campaign results to demonstrate communications’ success; track against KPIs

Develop and execute communications plans for sizeable, integrated campaigns

Collaborate effectively and provide clear and direct counsel to internal clients and teammates
-
Move quickly and feel comfortable having autonomy to lead projects
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

7-10 years communications experience in-house or at a PR agency
-
Undergraduate degree (communications, journalism, literature, or writing preferred)
-
Experience developing and executing effective strategies and execution of corporate, brand, and issues communications

Strong media relations experience with a sophisticated understanding of reactive strategies
-
Excellent oral and written communications skills
-
Understand how to get things done in a large, matrixed organization
-
Experience at a CPG company is helpful

Experience in beverage/brewing or another highly regulated industry would be a plus
-
Understand how to develop comprehensive communications plans and merchandise internally and externally

Move quickly and feel comfortable leading significant announcements / projects within a large but fairly flat organization
